NT Scan

So the last week I've been so down and scared because I went to have myNT scan done and the nurse said the neck measurement was 3.1. She said it was kinda thick for me being 13 wks and 26 yrs old. So I googled and worried and couldn't sleep but got the call yesterday that my blood work is all great and I should have nothing to worry about! I just want to let any other mommies going thru that scare to not lose faith! A higher neck measurement doesn't always mean somethings wrong!! And I found out it's a boy! It's a stressful time mamas but hang in there were gonna make it thru this!

I'm having the opposite anxiety - good measurements, but my blood work came back high risk. As of Friday we've been waiting 2 full weeks for the results of the free cell DNA test (longest and worst two weeks of my life). According to the lab, results will definitely be in on Monday. Desperately hoping for the best. Congratulations to you for your healthy little one.

Just wanted to make sure everyone know that NT is not at all a sure fire "test" with results of yes or no. It just tells you the likelihood of being at risk. Women who have the lowest risk tests of 1/10,000 can still have issues, and women who have results of 1/10 chance still have 9/10 chance that nothing is wrong. I know it's super nerve wracking either way but if the test has given you a lot of anxiety, I would highly recommend requesting free cell dna blood tests from your dr. Even if insurance doesn't cover, most labs will only charge $100-140 out of pocket, and the accuracy is over 99%.
