...to have a hot dog in a bun topped with macaroni and cheese and ketchup? I told my husband that's what I wanted and he looked at me like I was crazy. But it sounds good...and I'm going to make it happen.

Also Ruffles potato chips drizzled with chocolate, saw this on Pioneer Woman and suddenly my soul needed it.

My son wanted mac n cheese so I made it with some broccoli because I am not sure if he had a vegetable yesterday (oooops) and then suddenly NEEDED a hot dog. Of course, my son wanted one too so we both had mac n cheese n broccoli n hot dogs. I am obviously a great cook!

My Dr told me hot dogs are a no go. Is that not correct?

Hot dogs fall in the same category as lunch meats (listeria). If its heated it would kill any bacteria and it should be fine.

So good to know! I'll probably still steer clear but it is good to know it should be ok if I cave into my hot dog craving.

@sarawifenow Hot dogs have nitrates and you're supposed to limit nitrates.  

Just find the hot dogs without nitrates, or eat less of them.

ETA: Totally just do it!  I saw it somewhere, some restaurant serves a hot dog smothered in Mac and Cheese. Looks dang good.

Your post made me crave mac and cheese (which has been an important craving...anytime I hear about it). So I go to the grocery store and pick up what I believe is my beloved mac and cheese (no kraft cheap stuff, going for the nice quality expensive stuff). Well I got home only to realize I picked up freakin' scalloped potatoes (once I open the package and realize it doesn't look the same as usual)! So angry with myself, and DH looks at me like I've gone mad. And now my craving isn't satisfied and I'm grumpy. Hope you satisfied yours!

I"ve been on a mac n cheese kick too.  Stouffers mac n cheese every work day for lunch!  There is a hot dog place around here that puts homemade pimento cheese on their hotdogs.  Sounds gross but it is yummy

To be honest I've eaten this when I wasn't pregnant. It's like a cheese dog. It's amazing.
