I miscarried at 5.5 weeks with our first pregnancy early on a Friday. Our doctor told us to wait until one cycle to TTC (I didn't think to ask why), and she said that the blood work taken once I came in during my miscarriage confirmed an HCG level of 3. She also stated that I do not need to have a follow up appointment but that they are more than happy to see me in a few weeks if I feel the need to. Now that I've had time to really think, of course the office is closed, so I have a few questions:
Is a follow up appointment necessary? Is it just to make absolutely positively sure that all the tissue has passed?
Also, since she has not seen me at all for this pregnancy, is the one cycle wait simply a standard recommendation or could we potentially TTC right away?
I'll call on Monday when they open, but I'd love to hear if anyone else has any information as well.
Thanks in advance!
Re: Is a follow up appointment after MC needed?
I think very early chemical pregnancies doctors will say ttc right away is fine. Other than that the standard is 1-3 cycles depending on the doc. Do what your doctor says.
