I'm seeing a lot of "gender reveal" posts cropping up with people getting blood results and whatnot, so I figured it would be nice to keep them all in one place!
My doctor offered to do a genetic screening test that's a little more advanced than the typical stuff. It's a blood test where they separate maternal and fetal DNA to see if there is a risk for certain genetic disorders. A byproduct of the test is finding out the gender with 90-95% accuracy.
The company that did mine is Progenity... The test is called Verifi. I'm not sure if it is offered across the pond though.
Edit: American lab samples are usually sent out of the office to private companies... Not quite sure of healthcare processes in UK in this regard.
I'm in the UK how have you managed to find out already?
Don't worry - I'm in the U.S. and am not scheduled to find out until December 10th during our anatomy scan, unless they peek at it during my next scan in November.
A healthy baby girl!!!! Our first. My husband is already showing signs of weakness, that little girl is gonna have him wrapped around her tiny little finger! So in love already!!! Congrats to all the other mamas out there!
Just got our panorama test back and we are having a girl. I cried. Really thought / wanted a boy. Now I feel guilty for being upset since the results are all healthy. I bought a couple girl outfits and feel a little more excited. Just needed to vent

It's ok @kiki723 to have a little gender disappointment. while we were waiting I was thinking, what if I'm disappointed? Does that make me an awful mom? Turns out it's very normal. You've got a LOT of time to get used to the idea of a girl! Congrats!
Blood work came back Thursday and everything was normal and it's a boy ! This is number two for my husband and I, as we have a 4yr old girl. The idea of a boy is so foreign to me !! I had hoped for a second girl .
I went in for the trisomy ultrasound at 12.5 weeks and she asked me if I wanted to know the gender and I said sure and she said boy. She said not to buy blue nursery stuff or anything yet as the won't know 100% till they do the next ultrasound at 20 weeks. Then I went in with the doctor and she acted like I won't find out at all till 20 weeks and said that if I didn't know anything yet it's because the Ultrasound lady NEVER says anything unless she's 100% sure... I was thinking, well she told me, so... So, I'm pretty sure it's a boy... And only a bit confused. I do feel like it's nice to use "he" instead of "it." Makes it feel more real since I'm in between symptoms and really showing. Plus we finally zeroed in on a boys name. And if "he" turns out to be a "she" in seven more weeks, then I won't be too heart broken as I would prefer a she anyway.
