Progesterone level help?!

I'm getting my HSG in a few hours. They just called to let me know my HCG was negative and my progesterone was a 0.7 which means I didn't ovulate yet, this month? I had my period, although light on 8th then started Clomid on the 11th-15th. I did start taking antibiotics about 5 days ago due to having bronchitis. Shouldn't I have ovulated by now? Any thoughts? Thank you for all of you help, ladies! This can be so overwhelming...

Were the HCG and Progesterone done at the same time.  That's odd.  Progesterone drops off as AF is getting ready, but Progesterone is done about 1 week after O, and an HCG done about 2 weeks after O.  That's assuming you can pinpoint O.

It sounds like ur progesterone wAs checked a week later than it should have been. The low level indicates ur about to start ur period.

I think they checked your HCG and progesterone since the HSG was scheduled so late in your cycle. I think they wanted to confirm no pregnancy and see if you ovulated in which case maybe they wouldn't have proceeded with HSG to ensure it did not cause an ectopic or harm to the embryo or potential pregnancy?

Honestly, you should have ovulated by now. Most people will ovulate within 10 days from the last pill. Perhaps your illness delayed it, but I'm not sure. Ultrasounds after taking Clomid would have helped determine if you responded to it and how many follicles were mature or growing, if so. It seems too soon after the last pill for AF to arrive very soon.

I'm very confused on your doctor's strategy this cycle. To be completely honest, it makes me doubt you doctor's capability to treat your IF. You may want to ask your doc more questions about why ultrasounds weren't performed and why the HSG was scheduled so late, or you may want to switch to a new RE. I believe you previously said you are seeing an RE, not an OB, which shocks me based on the treatment plan in your other posting and this one. I guess they all probably handle treatment and recommendations differently, but I've never heard a course as you have described.

I just re-read the original post... Did I read correctly that u did a clomid cycle prior to getting ur HSG?? If so, I'm with PP in thinking u may want to consider switching docs...taking clomid before you actually take an HSG could potentially be a total waste of ur time and money because ur doc has no way of knowing yet if one or both of ur tubes are blocked....so prescribing clomid makes no sense. Edited to change wording

Yes! I consulted with him, he's a highly reputable RE. I started on two cycles of provera to have a period. On the second one, I started the clomid. I had scheduled the HSG, but, they did a preg check and progesterone to see if I needed to cancel it due to possible ovulation and pregnancy. I think he just wanted to see if I'd ovulate with the clomid?! HSG was fine. No blockage, etc... I'll hopefully have a period this next month in my own! He's now talking about femera.

Hmmm, I've never heard of it being done in that order. Oh well! So glad to hear ur HSG went well! Congrats! :-)

Yea- not typical!!! I think I'm a rare one because he wasn't expecting me to start AF. There wasn't time to get a plan together. Abd I asked why no ultrasound and they said they like to start you out at 1 round 150mgX5 and see if you ovulate on ur own with just the progesterone check. But, next month we will ultrasound.

Strange. If you didn't ovulate on 150, I wouldn't be shocked if your doctor recommends injectables next. I hope everything works out for you!!
