How long do you let DC walk around with a sippy/bottle of milk that he/she is slowly drinking before you take it away? Is there a guideline for number of hours?

Milk stays in the kitchen in our house. She gets milk during snacks and meals in her high chair. It's rare, but if she ever asks for a drink I make her drink it in the kitchen and then put the cup back in the fridge. I don't let her wander around with a beverage. I don't want to find yucky sippies 3 weeks later!
I probably wouldn't let DD drink milk that had been out for more than 1-2 hours, tops.

Another "milk stays in the kitchen" house hold here too.
I've been to too many friends houses where there's nasty milk stains on their floors and furniture. Then I heard a LOVELY story on here about someone's sister who found her nephew's milk sippy (with milk in it) after it had been lost in the house for DAYS. EWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So - he sometimes sits and drinks in the kitchen floor (the 1 yr old) but he can't leave the room. Mostly it's just meal times in his chair. If it's an in between meal "snack" I'll hold the baby while he drinks from his cup and the toddler will stand right in front of the kitchen chug-a-lugging and then it goes straight back into the fridge.
We set out from the beginning to avoid grazing snack type behavior as it tends to interfere with meal consumption. Milk isn't really any different for us in that regard.
Like PP I think 1 hour would be my tops.
Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
