I am 22 wks and 3 days and I had really upsetting news in the family that cause really bad crying and stress. I am now getting cramping and am afraid this can affect the baby? Has anyone else had this happen?
Sorry you got upsetting news. I've noticed that whenever I do something out of the ordinary, I cramp. Within reason, cramping is normal in pregnancy. I would recommend that you rest, put your feet up, and drink some water. That usually helps me.
I know that stress can cause digestive issues for me, which in turn causes cramps. As long as you're staying hydrated, the cramps settle after a couple hours and there's no bleeding, you and baby are probably fine!
My doctor told me that as long as my belly was staying soft and not getting hard that it was fine. And if it's getting hard while cramping just make sure it doesn't happen more then six times a hour cause this could mean your going in to labor...
I hope you feel better!! I've definately had some days where I have gotten really, really upset - and baby has always been fine. Were you able to relax and did the cramping stop then?
Sending thoughts and orayers your way! I had a really crummy day yesterday, got pretty upset, and had heaps of braxton hicks (about 20-30 i would estimate. By the sounds my day was nothing compared to yours. I would have a quick chat to your midwife, Im sure it is fine, but it will be one less thing on your mind to hear her confirm that for you. Other than that, please go easy in yourself! Hugs!
