let me start by saying I hate breastfeeding. Other than it being free, there's really nothing about it I enjoy. So when I have to use a shield because baby won't latch and now at 2.5 weeks old, baby likes to yank the shield off and send milk everywhere, I really hate it. But my question is, should milk smell? When she sends milk flying or spits it up, I feel like we both smell like, well, hot milk. It's not really a sour smell. Just a strong milk smell. Everything I read says it shouldn't smell. Baby is also extremely gassy - both ends - to the point of being uncomfortable. Could it be my milk?
I think I smell like "old" milk when I'm wearing it or DD spit up on me. Also, after eating, her breath smells like milk. It's not a distinguished smell, per se. It just smells like milk.
