I have two...

1. My husband's Aunts INSIST I am having a boy even though we clearly saw girl at our 20 week scan....and even were snotty and asked "well how do you KNOW it's a girl?" Umm listen ya jerks....that's how modern medicine works. And if you mutter one word about how my daughter is supposed to be a boy or should be a boy after she is born I will go apeshit on you.

My WTF is my cravings. All I want is fries and gravy, so I'm trying to think of a healthy option today... oh I should get a wrap- but the place sells fries and gravy. I need an intervention

The mother who asked the kindergarten teacher yesterday if her son could have his pacifier in class. WTF? These kids are 5 years old!

I also have two:
1) I don't know what in the ever-loving WORLD happened while I slept last night, but I woke up this morning feeling like my left nipple had been ripped right off of my body. It is nearly unbearable just wearing a shirt. Only my left one, and it's literally only the nipple. Not the areola or any of the actual boob, just my nip. WTF?!
2) poor DD spiked a 102 fever last night... She has only been sick like once before in her life so I'm freaking out and not used to sick babies. WTF, life?

@Scullahoo I will never complain again about my overbearing, baby on the brain MIL. I am so sorry you and DH have to deal with her. Perhaps if it is too bad, she can be cut out of your lives completely?

@Scullahoo I'm so sorry you're dealing with that. My mom is hardly interested in being a grandma for the first time, and it sucks. Having a baby doesn't make someone a mother-unconditional love and behaving like a mother does. Is MIL close by? Even though your DH doesn't want to cut ties, for his own emotional sake I would keep him distant from her (and keep your dad distant too, if he still spreads malicious lies). Personally I would do my best to protect DH from all of that so he can focus on his own emotional well being and deal with having a cruel mom. He doesn't have to disown her or anything, but not everyone in our lives is meant to be loved up close. I learned I can love my mom best from 400 miles away, and 10 min conversations once every couple months.

The good news is its you, DH, and your little boy against the world. The 3 of you are about to become such a wonderful tight knit family unit, and you guys alone get to determine how your son is raised, decide to to not repeat your parents mistakes, and how to give your son an example of how a loving mom SHOULD treat her son.

@Scullahoo Ohh you're right I misread that about your FIL! I'm glad your DS isn't bitter or hardened by it, sounds like he'll make a great dad!

Heartburn. Wtf. The last 2 days have been absolute torture. Never dealt with it midday before though, til now. Harder to disguise my annoyance and discomfort at the work place.

Also 90% sure bread and chocolate are the culprits. Which are pretty much my 2 favorite things in this whole wide world. Grrr

@ariasbabyblog, my mom used to be a speech pathologist for birth to 3 yr olds and saw many strange names. Abcde is still the one she says was the strangest. I've never seen it anywhere else until now! One of my other favorites that she came across was La-ia....pronounced Ladashia. I can't believe what some people come up with!

There is a website called Baby's Named A Bad Bad Thing that I used to surf when I was bored at work. I didn't think I would ever actually see these with my own eyes. What are we doing to our children!?

1. My Aunt Mary told me I was selfish to have a child at such a young age (I'm 26, my husband is 28. We've been married 2 years....)

2. I had weight loss surgery 1 year ago; got pregnant on purpose due to my mother in law being terminally ill (she never had grandchildren) we found out it was a girl before she died. One of my patients ended up telling me that me having surgery was a waste if I was just going to get knocked up anyway. Im down 120 pounds. A healthy 190 pounds compared to my 310 weight before.

@skullahoo What in the fuck is wrong with your MIL? This just angers me. You and your husband should keep your precious baby away from her whenever possible. If I were you, I wouldn't tell her anything about the baby the rest of your pregnancy-- not the name, not anything about doctor's visits, not when you go into labor. Nothing. Some people make things all about them. This isn't about her being a grandmother again, it's about you and your husband creating the family you want. Too bad she sucks and won't get to enjoy it like she could. What the f is she texting your husband?! Grrrrrrrr!

A bit late to this party, but, after my a/s yesterday, I sent messages to important peeps in my life about how it went. Everyone sent bk messages to me except my own mother..I waited all day. Wtf??? Not to upset really, I'm pretty used to this after 43 yrs..

I also have 2.
My mother owes me 440.00 for her and her bfs cell phones she barely pays and it's been like this all year. He sent her bf down to pay me 200 and he supposedly lost it. I've heard she is doing not so good things AND she is supposed to be my child care provider to go back to work. I don't know if u can do it. My mother says she isn't and wouldn't but I hear it from many people.

His father left state and decided out of the blue to stay there out of the blue. Now he is poor mouthing and had the nerve to ask us to send him money to live down there.

We are very middle class with di/di twins on the way I'm sickened our family members can even think of doing this and I'm just not sure what to do anymore.

@Scullahoo thank you. I've been trying to my mother and I have only had each other for ever this really does hurt bad. I want to believe her but don't and feel very taken advantage of. I'm 35 and have 2 girls on the way I never thought this would happen and now I'm dealing with this as if she is MY child not the other way around. NOT the way I expected my first and probably only pregnancy to go. The amount of money child care would be it would be my paycheck and probably not worth me working anyhow so it is one or the other. As far as his father I would never give him anything in fact he didn't find out we were expecting till last week when a family member congratulated him as all he does is cause problems. However I have decent support at work and my hubby and I have the greatest marriage I've ever seen. It's just frustrating.

Little late but Wtf white coat blood pressure? I'm a nurse and I get the worst white coat blood pressure when I go to the doc. Today they took my blood pressure 3 times, first time it was about 148/95 and the third time it was still 138/92. Since the bottom number was still over 90 for 3 times in a row she sent me to L&D to watch my BP, get blood work and check urine for any signs of preeclampsia. Last three blood pressures that were just checked were around 115/70 once I'm away from everything, so it's just my darn stress response. DH says I need to learn to meditate. Also, got the brand new kid to try and draw my blood, missed twice, I'm young and healthy and have great veins, the 2nd lady got blood no problem, but now I'm gonna have bruises everywhere. Why do they have to check your weight first and then check your blood pressure?? Of course I'm gonna have higher blood pressures after I see my weight going up even tho I know it's important for baby, just hate seeing the numbers. Grrrrr
