No naps!!

My 3.5 mo old will not nap during the day. I shouldn't really complain bc he sleeps 7-9 hours at night then wakes, nurses and sleeps for another 2-3 hours. But then he only sleeps after nursing (in my arms.) The moment I put him down he wakes and cries. He will snooze in the car but I am always en route somewhere w my 24 mo old...not in the car for too long.. We do try swings, playmat, we read books and he goes on play dates w his brother so he gets stimulation! I've also tried laying him down where he sleeps at night and he just cries. Then I have to nurse him to get him to stop crying! He won't take a bink...! Any suggestions??

I am in the same boat. The moment I put her down she looses it. She'll sleep in her cot at night but during the day she wants me and only me.

I also have a toddler... Some moments are HARD!

Day time naps are hard. My son was 2.5 when my daughter was born so juggling both was and IS a challenge.

For my kids I always made sure their room was super dark, white noise was going and when they were really young, I still swaddled for naps. Another important aspect is to time the naps just right. Watch for tired cues and put your LO down as soon as he/she is showing signs of being tired.

Do you babywear?  That could give your arms a break and still give baby the sensation of being held.  

It's rough, though.  They go through phases that literally push you to the edge of your patience.  

Do you swaddle?

My LO won't take being swaddled.. He wears a loosefitting sleep sack when he sleeps at night and again, he sleeps really well at night. My 1st did and was swaddled til almost a year! Sometimes I find he shows cues of being tired when I'm just not able to stop and go put him down. The worst is when we're in the car and he falls asleep in his car seat and I don't live in a place where I can keep him in the car safely so I bring him inside and he immediately wakes up. It sure is tough juggling two. I do baby wear but wow do we get hot!! Hes in our carrier every day for awhile! He's asleep on my chest now AND my toddler is napping so I'm NOT MOVING!! HAHA, this is a rareity I wish I could put him down but he needs to sleep!! Sometimes I forget he's only three months but then other times I think wait, he's three months shouldn't he be able to sleep when I put him down!!!

I remember 3-4 months being really tough with naps. Just keep on trying what you can. This too will pass.
