Mom Has Fever While BF

I am having fever complete with coughing & headache - and my csection hurts when I sneeze. My baby is 2 weeks old. Can I still BF her? She's showing no sign of having fever, cold or cough. Please help.

This. But it's possible you have mastitis in which case you need an antibiotic from your doc and they will want you to keep BF while treating it.

You can BF as long as you don't have sepsis or another blood-borne illness. In fact, its recommended to keep BF through all illness to maintain supply and bolster baby's immune system as well. Feel better soon. Sickness plus a NB is rough. Hang in there.

Yes, keep breast feeding. Try not to breath on or.kiss LO etc. Keep your hands washed. I was sick but my baby didn't get it because she got the antibodies in my breast milk. Miracle liquid!!

Yes, it is ok to continue breastfeeding your baby. Actually breastfeeding passes antibodies from your body to baby, this protects your baby from illness. But don't keep in close contact with your baby and wash your hands before touching your baby.
