Here is that info regarding repositioning from the article I got from DD's PT.   Sorry I haven't had the chance to post it sooner...I couldn't find the article.  Anyway, after we read this, we decided to go with the helmet.

It says "Several clinical investigations have reported some success with simple position modification in infants less than 6 months of age who were categorized as having mild-moderate cranial deformity.  Six months of age is the upper limit at which repositioning is believed to be effective b/c most infants develop the ability to reposition themselves by that age."

DD was diagnosed with moderate to severe plagiocephaly and was 7 months old by her appt.  So, that info helped push us towards getting the helmet for her.

Hope some of the info has helped you.  GL!

Re: **Zeidy**

  • Thank you so much. We've been trying to repositioning both, especially when they are sleeping. It helped some, Chris more than Gaven. But you can tell that Gaven will deff need it. When you look at his head from the top his ears are off, and the frontal cranium is pushed forward. It alot better than when he was born. I'm making an apponmt w the neurologist tomorrow. I'll let you know what they say.?
