Baby food

Well it's harvest season ladies and my garden is exploding with all sorts of stuff. I found the time today to make some homage baby food. I made two batches of buttercup squash purée and my goal is to make carrot purée tomorrow. Pumpkin, peas, sweet potatoe, and beets are on the agenda as well.

Any other ladies make their own? I'd love some other ideas.

I went crazy at the farmers market! Zucchini, apples, peaches, butternut squash, acorn squash, and lots and lots of carrots. The only thing is I seem to have already burnt out my new blender. I need to look for something stronger I guess

NutriBullet is very good for things like that. And it only costs about $80!

Vitamix is worth every penny. Protein smoothies are so smoooooth and I can't wait to use it to make baby food.

I was gifted the baby bullet system. It's worked pretty well so far. Between breast milk and baby food our deep freeze is getting pretty tight. Might try and convince dh to let me get another freezer for just the baby stuff.

We made our own purees for our older son & plan to do that again this time around. I am super impressed by your garden though!!!! Sounds amazing!!

Is it as simple as it sounds? Purée fruits & veggies once a week? Haven't started researching this yet...

When you freeze them, how long do they last?

I've read 3-6 months but I'm guessing longer in a deep freeze like breast milk.

And yeah cook them first and purée them just look online. There's tons of sites that show you how.
