Just found out that we are having a girl! We have a two year old son named Troy Joseph. We loved his first name because it's a name everyone recognizes, but not super popular. We would love to have a name with similar familiarity and popularity. Joseph is a family name.
We have a few middle names (from various family members) that we would like to use: Marie, Louise, and Michelle
Some first names we like, but don't love: Hannah Liliana Isabella Arya Emma
We seem to like girl names with the "a" sound at the end, but so many of these types are super popular. Also, our last name begins with C, and I'd rather avoid a hard C in the first name.
Any suggestions on alternative names? Thanks in advance!
Vera is actually a family name on DH's side. It's one of my top picks but I can't seem to get hubby on board. :-/ I am definitely gonna show him your post to emphasize how good it is!! Thanks haha!
Emma is the most popular girl's name in the US, so I'd stay away from it if you don't want your daughter surrounded by lots of other Emmas. I have a weakness for it too, but will probably never use it because of its popularity.
Arya looks too much like Aryan to me and reminds me of Nazis.
Hannah is nms, but a good name.
Isabella is also VERY popular.
Lilianna is beautiful, my favorite of your list by far! I think it sounds nice with Troy too.
We have a few middle names (from various family members) that we would like to use: Marie, Louise, and Michelle . . . .
What about trying to combine one or two of those family names to make something you both like. . . Like combining Marie and Louise to make Laurie. . . .
