Weekly Threads?

So, I'm a little new here as a regular poster but I've been around the bump for years and used to be an active member of my BMB.

I've noticed that in this BMB there hasn't been many of the 'typical' weekly threads. Are they just not popular on this board or are they a thing of the past? I'd love to see some WTF Wednesdays, UO Thursdays or FFFC.

Anyone with me? What weekly threads do you like to see?

Re: Weekly Threads?

  • I loved UO and FFFC with my first but they kind of seemed to have fallen by the wayside during all the old dramatics.  They used to be a way to disagree and debate but people seem really sensitive about that now.  I'd love to start them up again but I'd be worried that even more people would be reported and banned for silly things.

  • My last BMB did them all the time, and I did really enjoy them! They do sometimes get feathers ruffled, but can help cut down on some of the less important threads that maybe could just be posted in one of the weekly ones instead. We had B!tch and moan Monday, Thankful Tuesday, WTF Wesnesday, UO Thursday, FFFC Friday, and I don't remember what we called it but one on sat and sun where you said what you were doing for the weekend.

***My absolute favorite we did was MOTN, when I thought I'd fall asleep holding LO or during a particularly hard night, it was nice to chat and laugh with everyone!! :)
  • @str13 MOTN were my favourite too! When you feel all alone and exhausted, someone else is there too.
  • I get the mon tue wed but what do the rest of the week and the motn stand for?
  • I get the mon tue wed but what do the rest of the week and the motn stand for?

MOTN = middle of the night - chats during night time wakings

UO = Unpopular Opinions - opinions you have of things that differ from those that are popular

FFFC = Flame Free Friday Confessions -no judgement confessions (but not always)
  • You have my vote! I think it will help us bond a little. Boy, that was cheesy but true!

On my first BMB we also did a daily WFD (what's for dinner) thread, it was really helpful and fun to learn different meals. Especially those homey comfort food ones like grilled cheese and tomato soup. We were basically all on a time and money budget so everything was simple.
  • I started a wtfwednesday thread and for a while it had a lot of posters but then people kind of stopped posting so I stopped trying to keep it up.
