Our last name wasn't the most loved here so I'm coming back. Your thoughts on the following: James Matthew or James Joseph?
Siblings: Asher Thomas, Miles Edmund, Liam Robert
DH's full name is Thoma.s Matthe.w. He picked James. I'm not the biggest fan due to possible nn Jamie and that I like 2 syllable names. But we're getting no where and have about 30 days left. Sigh.
Names I love, he has rejected: Luca, Dylan
Names he loves that I rejected: Joshua, Adam
Names that we thought might be "the one" but weren't: Everett, John, Owen
Thanks ladies! If I finally get a girl, her name (for the last 8 years) will be Lucia Grace. So easy!
Asher Thomas 5.19.10
Miles Edmund 12.29.11
Liam Robert 1.21.14
Baby 4...ok probably another boy here haha 9.20.15
My brother is James and no one has ever tried to call him Jamie. It's not one of those automatic nicknames like Jess for Jessica or Chris for Christopher. I like James a lot. Either mn sounds good. Both options read very Biblical (which I love, but just giving you that impression in case that's not what you're going for)
Agree with James Matthew. DH is James and I've never heard anyone call him Jamie... every once in awhile a person of an older generation will go for Jim. He usually just rolls with it but if it's at work or somewhere he thinks it might stick he just tells them that he prefers James and it's never a problem.
If you want a two syllable NN, Jimmy is right there for the taking. I don't like it on an adult but for a little boy Jimmy fits. It's a much more natural fit than Jamie. Or just call him James no matter what kids at school use. My wife's parents are the only people I know who call her by her full name but there's nothing wrong with that. She just started using a shortened form in late high school.
Re: I give up/DH might get this one....your thoughts?
