Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

frustrated rant

I don't understand something.... Why is it that through everything with this stupid miscarriage my friends and in laws have been more supportive than my family? Shouldn't they be the ones who care the most? Sorry for the rant.bA friend who is due around the same time as I was just announced today. I feel like I'm back at the beginning of the whole ordeal.

Re: frustrated rant

  • Sorry you are going through this. I have learned personally that some people get it and some just don't. My own Dad told me to get over it and move on and then hung up on me when I screamed at him that I lost my baby. We just lost our babies....it is ok for us not to be ok. Just know you are not alone and not everybody will understand the pain especially if they haven't gone through it. I also have two coworkers due around the same time as me so that alone has been the single hardest thing for me. I have been very honest with them about everything and they have been very sweet. I guess my advice is don't edit your feelings for the people you are around. Allow yourself to feel what you are feeling because it does no good to try and stuff it down. I actually felt better after yelling at my Dad and telling him how I really felt because he truly did not get it until then. (Hugs)
  • People don't understand unless they've been through it. Even if they have been through it, their experience is not yours. Sucks.

  • I've found that the people you least expect will be the most caring. My aunt that I have a rocky relationship with held me while we both cried, where as my sister who recently moved 12 hours from her home to be closer to me while I was pregnant, has not even come to visit me. My husband on the other hand, who has been known to have a hard time dealing with my overwhelming emotions when stuff goes wrong has been AMAZING and I've never felt closer to him. Sadly people just don't know how to react and some people need major sensitivity training.
