New cycle- advice on questions for nurse?

starting my second IUI cycle. 1st attempt 5mg letrizol, ovidrel trigger, 2 >19 follicles. Got UTI symptoms 5dpiui but test was negative. Got Montgomery tub. 10dpiui but got . 12dpiui. Hubby morphology was 2% at SA & I have PCOS. I'm a terrible advocate and don't ask enough questions. This office rarely gives specifics on numbers, dosing, and are very quick. Any more experienced TTCers have advice for what to ask tomorrow? I feel like theyre just running through my 3 allotted IUIs and I want this one to count!

Re: New cycle- advice on questions for nurse?

  • My advice is that you have to be an advocate for yourself. This is your body and you and your hubby's future. Ask them if there is anything hubby can do to improve his SA. Ask them what their plan is. Do they plan to keep trying the same doses and same drugs or if there is something else they can try. And if you feel like they are rushing you out and wasting your time, find a new doctor. Just MHO. I really hope you get the answers you seek and that you find success on your journey!

  • I agree with pp. you should also ask them what changes they made to the protocol since it didn't work before. Your doctor should never rush you and should always be there for questions. Good luck on your journey I hope this cycle works for you.

  • In my opinion I don't think anything needs to be changed with you as you are making eggs with the meds. I would ask what someone else already suggested. You still have a chance with iui. I would ask them what they think the odds are with those numbers. Hang in there.

  • Thanks all. The odds are 10% each cycle according to them, but they wasted time in missing a SA on our IUI (they were supposed to do both to retest the morphology). These are great questions and support. The femara got good results, I'm focused on how they are going to manage the second half and what we can do to up our chances this round. I'll update yall on how it goes!
