Placement of baby monitors

Where will you be placing baby monitor in room relative to crib? High on wall, on tall dresser, on night stand, across room?

We have a video monitor and we perched it on the corner of the crib looking down into it. But our crib has a wide top to it, and was against the changing table, so I was able to kinda lean it against that, too. Hard to explain, and you'd think it would fall in, but it never did.

Mine is hanging on a nail above the crib with the cord going the opposite way around the door. See pics.

I hung a few shelves on the wall around the crib and sat the monitor on one of the shelves. Just going to let it run from batteries instead of having the cord run across the wall.

Mine is a camera mounted in the corner on the ceiling (because it's white) and I can pan around the whole room.
