Baby Names

Top two girls names, help please!

We've narrowed it down to Jane and Lucy as first names. Thoughts? We already have a middle name, so we just need to decide on the first name.

Re: Top two girls names, help please!

  • What is the middle name?

  • It's a family name, both sound great with it, that's why we took it off to get opinions of just the first names. :)

  • Love both. I can't really give one the edge without knowing the middle name.

Jane. I don't know why but I Love Lucy just turns me off of the name since it'll probably always be referenced.
  • Jane! I think it will age much better and is definitely underused.
  • Jane is on my list! Wonderful name! Lucy is cute but doesn't suit a grown up as well in my opinion.
  • Not knowing the middle name you are going to use, I would have to say Jane. But that is only because I love the nn Lucy, but I don't like Lucy as a full name....

  • Oh man these are BOTH two of my favourite names. (My spirit animal, you!)

Ugh... ok i'll give you the reasons I like both.

Lucy :) I've never met a lucy i didn't like. It means "Light" which is fantastic. Lucys tend, in my experience, to be extroverts, funny, friendly and quirky. And one of the Lucys i know is an older lady and it suits her wonderfully.

Jane.. oh Jane. Classic, beautiful Jane. All the janes i've ever known have either been very dignified and elegant or very unique and punky. Either way, great associations.

So the people with those names are the reasons i love those names so much.
