feeding bottles

I plan to breast feed to begin with. I want to see how i go this time around as i only breast fed my daughter for 3 weeks.. when i put her on the bottle i used nuk teats. Its really hard to find them these days well the classic ones anyway. I can get the wide neck nuk but im worried about bubs swallowing too much air with the wide neck even though they are the orthodontic shape. My friend uses closer by nature and it sounds like her baby swallows SO much air and they are wide neck teats also. Has anyone used the classic avent teats for bottle feeding?? And have you had problems with wind?? Im curious as i am willing to give them a go as they are well priced and aren't as wide as the closer by nature

Re: feeding bottles

  • I tried a bunch of different types and my LO and they personally did best with plain evenflo nipples, medela and dr Browns. That being said, I never noticed out of the 7 brands we tried, one having an abundance of air sucked up, they just ate better on certain nipples. I have always thought it's good to buy one of several types and see what works for LO. Mine were picky but I know other people's LOs aren't as picky.

  • I'm expecting my first baby next month so I don't have personal experience with this yet, but my mommy friends have all been recommending the Tommee Tippee bottles. I plan to breast feed as well but since I will need to return to work shortly after, I plan to pump n use those with the nanny. Good luck finding what works for your little one!
  • Personally I love Avent. I have two styles of nipples that I'll be trying for this baby. DS was not picky, I used all sorts of bottles and nipples with him and I'm hoping DD won't be picky either.
  • My friend used avent and I'm gonna use avent you can get bottles that resemble your boobs basically lol I heard they are really great but obviously no experience yet as I'm a FTM
  • Dr. Browns. Hands down!

Tommy tippee caused a lot of gas for DS.

  • I asked my mommy friends for recommendations when I was creating my registry and they unanimously said Dr. Brown's, so that's what I'm going to try first when the time comes
