Ganirelix Side Affects

Hi Ladies,

I start stimming for my 2nd fresh IVF cycle tomorrow. The medications that I will be taking are Menopur, Follistim and Ganirelix. I'm familiar with Menopur and Follistim but not the Ganirelix.

Has any of you used Ganirelix before and did you have any side affects from it?

Also, have any of you taken Follistim and had any side affects?

Hi! I never had any side effects from ganirelix... However my suggestion to you is to definitely ice the area and do the ganirelix first. I found the needle to be a little dull and it did bruise tiny bit. Hope this helps! Good luck!!

on my 8th round, never had any side effects from it from Follistim, Ganerillix or Menopur.   I eventually bruise from all the shots. Good luck!!

Hi I had the same protocol- Manipur ganirelex and follistem. I didn't have any side effect but I usually went to sleep after. I did have some bruising and I would do the follistem first then ganirelex and then menopur because the menopur burned I wanted it last. Good luck

Starting stims tomorrow for round 2 as well. Was on the same meds first time around and had no side effects at all. I do agree with PP that the needle for the ganirelix is dull and will bruise easier but icing the area a little helped. Good luck!!
