Severe... Gas pains..?!?

I will be 34 weeks tomorrow and over the last 24hrs, I am having bouts of stomach spasms, followed by occassional gas (but not always). My stomach feels fine whenever I'm not getting these spasms. My bowels have been typical and my diet hasn't changed. Could these be false contractions or just gas pains?

No one on here can answer this for you. If you are worried, I would contact your Dr and they can tell you if you should come in or try something else.

I'm not looking for medical advice. I'm just curious if anyone else has had this experience and what it meant for them. I don't think it's an emergency by any means (baby moving a lot, no other negative s&s, feel great when it's not occurring).

The thing is though what I have experienced may sound similar to me to what you described when in reality it may be nothing like what you described. It is kind of like when you go on WebMd and put in your symptoms...you could literally have a hang nail and it will give you tons of hits of conditions with similar symptoms and suddenly the hangnail turns into "OMG I am dying." It just isn't reliable....have I had stomach pains with gas? Yes, a lot. I have also had some mild cramps here and there....Not trying to be rude, but we just honestly can't say with certainty that anything any of us have experienced is the same as what you have experienced with something as vague as stomach spasms and pains. It is a lot different than the nipple pain any of us who plan to BF will experience - that we all know we can relate to and we can share tips and ideas....but this is just impossible for us to diagnose. You are clearly concerned about it or you wouldn't have come on to post, so for your own sanity, I would just call the Dr and ask if you are worried, or if you are not overly worried, put it on your list of items to discuss at your next regular appointment.

I had something that felt like trapped gas off and on from week 33 to around week 35. It ran across the top of my stomach. My doc said the baby was ether laying on a nerve or perhaps crimping my intestines somehow. It was not fun. She dropped a bit about 10 days ago and the pain is gone so I do think it was something baby was laying on.

April42007 thanks for sharing your experience! Last night when it occurred, it did help laying down on my side so her positioning could def be a culprit of it!!

Yes, this has happened to me. Be careful not to eat too much at a time and/or the wrong type of food.
