Recent M/C. My last beta blood test was 6. Should I get repeat B/W?

Hi ladies,

I just had my first pregnancy and first M/C June 1st.  Very early pregnancy - only 4 weeks or so.  I had a natural M/C and my body seems to very stubborn because I bled for about 3 weeks and a week and a half of brown spotting afterwards.  It finally stopped like 2 weeks ago.  I was concerned about the spotting, so I saw my doctor 2 weeks ago (the day before it stopped of course) and I had an US and she saw nothing to be concerned about.  Anyways, my beta numbers were this - June 1st - 40.  June 5th - 33.  The doctor saw no need to test me further until I asked for a blood test 2 weeks ago, so the last test was July 8th and it was 6.  The nurse told me there is no need for further tests.  This particular nurse is very hard to deal with and I feel like I have to push her for everything. 

I hear under 5 is considered "not pregnant".  We want to start trying again as soon as possible.  

Do you think I should push for another blood test that confirms my level is below 5?  Any other ladies have such a slow stubborn drop in HGG levels after a M/C ?

Mines the opposite . The dr I go to has made me get one every1-2 weeks since my d&c on June 8th. My level on the day I started to bleed before surgery was 80,000 . Last Monday it was at 10. I just had my first period since my surgery and they still want me to have it done yet again until it's under 5.. So to me that says that being <5 is important . See if u can have it done one more time a week from your last draw. Sorry you have the added stress of a crappy nurse

Thanks jones12! I just called the nurse again and she told me they consider 6 to be negative. It might depend on the reference ranges for the lab. I asked for my own peace of mind if I could go one more time and she said OK so we'll see what the levels are next week. Still don't know why my body is so stubborn

I would go until 5 or less. I had a 6 result last time and went once more.
