Breast Pumps!

So I'm having difficulty choosing a breast pump that my insurance provides to me at no charge. Has anyone used these and if so what do you recommend? Just an FYI, I'll be pumping throughout the day once I go back to work and breast feeding only when I'm with my baby. I work full time so I'll rely on a pump to do it's job.

Ameda purely yours Double Electric
The first years Breast flow memory pump
Hygeia Q Electic Breast pump
NUK expressive double electric pump
Lansinoh signature pro double electric

Thanks for your advice!

  • Seriously.

This^^^^ this is the 3rd breast pump question today. So for the 3rd time I like Medela. On behalf of the other ladies for the millionth time please use the search bar before posting a question ~X(
  • There are about a zillion breast pump recommendation posts. There were several just today. Please use search function.

  • Literally like 8 posts down there is a breast pump post..
  • Damn, sorry....I'm looking for advice on THESE specific pumps....notice medela isn't listed on here as it's not an option for me. Have nothing to say about comparing THESE pumps? move along....please and thank you!

    I'm assuming your talking to me since I suggested Medela. I don't have to move along anywhere. I gave you my opinion on a pump that I use & have experience with. I'm not sure about the ones your insurance will cover so theres that! No one was being rude except for you on this post =;
  • Of those on your list.. I've heard good things about Ameda.
Make sure to check with your insurance company about where you can purchase it.. I've always had to have a prescription from my doctor and have to purchase it from a "durable medical supply company," which of course none of them just carry pumps, so I have found one that will order one for me.

Search for reviews on Google. I tried looking now but too tired. I think of those listed 1 Ameda 2 Lansinoh 3 4 5 not sure. Just basing what I've heard. My insurance covered medela or spectra so I didn't have much research to do.

Another idea, call up La Leche league leader in your area - she might have some suggestions.

Public forum, no one has to move along anywhere. You can't dictate the responses you get. Welcome to the internet.

That being said, if you read even half of the "breast pump" posts by using the search function, you could find every one of these pumps already mentioned. Amazing, huh?

Brooklynn- don't take it personally. The ladies on here are literally high on hormones and have forgotten all about manners. They don't actually read the post and then jump to conclusions... It's not just your post- it's most of them. As a ftm, I have no input for your pump issue as I have no prior experience, but just wanted to remind you not to get discouraged by their see you next Tuesday attitudes. I would try googling reviews and try your hospital/dr for breast feeding classes - they might have better input (as Someone above stated) but good luck. Don't get discouraged.

Because telling people to move along & trying to dictate responses is having manners?! When there is 3 post on breast pumps in one day it clogs up the boards. Maybe not using the search bar & doing repeat post is rude.. just sayin. :-w
  • Medela pump goes on sale at 6 pm on Amazon tonight. But only for a few hours. So maybe if you really want that it will be cheap enough to buy or your insurance could reimburse you.

Ooh just a thought: when you buy one of the covered pumps, do they write you a check to cover it or send you the pump? Could you get the check for one of those and then use that check for a different one? I know the sale is only for tonight which isn't much time to do much research, but something to maybe think about.

@carelssdiva89 your name says it all. A) careless and b) diva. I hope the original poster got as much of a kick out of your name as I did. Hahaha. Btw. She said that because she was trying to get you off her back and Second, the other two pump post were from the same person so maybe you should yell at her for double posting (please don't actually, she's pregnant and probably as hormonal as everyone else here.... No need to try and ruin her day as well) as well as a different question than this post, in case you didn't read it.... but I just really wanted to point out the irony of the name carelessdiva89. Lol

I'm pretty sure that being honest and telling it like it is is sort of what the bump has always been known for. Also, being that way does not equal being high on hormones. One could argue that one's inability to handle hearing it could be a demonstration of such hormones though.

"They don't actually read the post and then jump to conclusions... It's not just your post- it's most of them."

Well now that's just inflammatory and inaccurate. Just going through all the posts today, I haven't seen any evidence that supports your statement of "most of them." Are you sure you are looking at the correct board?

"As a ftm, I have no input for your pump issue as I have no prior experience, but just wanted to remind you not to get discouraged by their see you next Tuesday attitudes."

If you have no useful purpose behind posting, are you not just here to stir everyone up by essentially calling us all a very vulgar term? If you feel that we are all so awful, have you considered finding another forum in which you would feel more at home?

"I would try googling reviews and try your hospital/dr for breast feeding classes - they might have better input (as Someone above stated) but good luck."

So you acknowledge that someone on this meanie-mean board did provide an answer to this already over-asked question! Thus you acknowledge that the OP actually DID receive help in addition to being asked to use the search feature (also a helpful suggestion). I find your comments to be contradictory and unfair. That is all. Please feel free to lump me in with all the other August meanies :-D I'll be in good company ;-)

I read your screen name as Barfy.  And Medela is the best.

    That made me giggle!
