August 2015 Moms

Just want to cry!! **warning, vent ahead!"

So I get released last night from L&D, and for the fray time all week, get to come home. Immediately, DH says, "I'm going to work with my cousin tomorrow". Mind you "working" with his cousin means 3hrs cutting hay and 5hrs drinking beer. I'm obviously upset and he just doesn't get it. It then turns into his mom overhearing him say this and she tells his dad the whole way home last night about how crappy DH is being (I love my MIL btw). This turns to his dad bitching to him all morning because his mama was bitching at him. Now he's not going and he's pissed off as hell that I'm upset. Mind you, we have a 2yr old whom I'm not allowed to pick up or carry and he was going to leave her with me to take care of. He only had the kids 1 day this week by himself and that's because they were all visiting grandparents. My BP is sky high because we keep fighting, I can't stop crying at all, and I just want to leave this house. Honestly, it has to be better for my BP and HR if I'm driving down the road, than laying here yelling at each other. Am I wrong for being upset that he wants to leave me with the kids while he goes and semi-works?? Or am I being ridiculous? Honesty is important here ladies...is it just my hormones??

  • Probably a little of both. If he is working because he needs the money, that is one thing. If he is trying to leave you to goof off, that is another thing. At this point though if you guys are just fighting and it is raising uour BP, then maybe it's better if he does leave and maybe you can recruit a friend or family member to help for the day?

Sorry he isn't being more supportive. Some men just don't understand.

  • I have been in this same argument with my dh and also having high bp problems. Honestly I leave and go drive around or go to the park for a lil bit and Not only does this help with my blood pressure, it helps me realize that though I am not completely in the wrong for being upset, I do over react and dh needs a little space. I never fully understand how crazy hormonal I can be until I get away from the situation for a bit. But every situation is different and I hope you find a way to calm down and relax because high blood pressure is not good for you or baby!
  • I personally don't think you're being ridiculous. If working with his cousin doesn't entail actual work and is more of a hang out, he needs to stay his ass home and attend to his wife. I don't think he'd be that pissed off at the thought of not working. More like pissed at the thought of not dicking around.

You just got home from a hospital stay. Clearly you were there for a reason; he needs to recognize that and do everything in his power to make your last few weeks bearable. At least your in-laws are on your side!!

I would say to keep the arguing/yelling to a minimum if you can. It's not good for you and it's not going to help his attitude. Just calmly explain to him that you're counting on him to help keep this baby in and you're sorry that means he has to make some sacrifices, but that's what you guys signed up for. If he keeps up the combative attitude, go to another room so he can be mad alone. Good luck girl. >:D<
  • I don't feel like I need help, but I also don't feel like I need to lay my butt in a bed all day when there are things that need to get done before the baby gets here. I can't trust him to go to the store and buy what I write down, he always spends WAY more and doesn't get half the stuff I write down.

Oh, and his working isn't for pay. We need the money, but that's not even an option doing this for his cousin.

  • Thanks y'all! I managed to calm down and convince him to let me go for a drive. He won't let me alone, so he's driving me. I think I may be 4 wall crazy and that's adding to my frustration. He still doesn't understand why I'm upset, but I don't understand why he wants to leave so badly. So, for the time being we've decided not to talk about it.
