Let's lighten the mood a bit.
Who is your favorite fictional father from TV, movie or book?

I think mine is Prince Charming/David from Once Upon A Time. I just LOVE how every time he hugs Emmma he cradles her head like he would if she was a baby. Because she is his baby. *tears*

    Totally! He cracks me up. He also reminds me a little of my FIL. Except my FIL is a little nicer! :-)

    This is making me think! I think ideally a combination of Joel from Parenthood, Uncle Jesse from Full House, Red Foreman from That 70's Show, and Arthur Weasley from Harry Potter.  (Loving, fun, stern, and nerdy, respectfully.)

    Book dad I'd have to say Jamie fraser from outlander. He just takes care of everyone like they're his own. TV dad I'd go with Phil Dunphy. He's just adorable. Movie dad I'd go with marlin from finding nemo. Technically, not human, but he went through the entire ocean to find nemo.

    Phil Dunphy is the first person that came to mind. He and DH have some eerie similarities which makes him all the funnier to me, and sometimes less funny...

    I also LOVE the dad on Juno, he's awesome, but shows he cares and is there for her.

    Mine has to be Zeek Braverman from the TV show Parenthood and Eric Taylor from the TV show Friday Night Lights. Solid, stern, but loving all at the same time.

    Just recently saw Me and Earl and the Dying Girl in theaters, the dad in that movie was my favorite! (Died laughing when he held the cat up and stood there in silence).

    Michael Bluth! Because the most important thing is family (also, breakfast).

    From literature, I'm with PP on Atticus Finch. Even as a teenager, I remember thinking I wanted to be a parent with that kind of integrity, understanding, and love. And I just hope my daughter is half as full of life as Scout!

    I agree, the movie dad was great! I've read that the guy the movie was based on though was actually quite the dead beat dad, and abusive
