Re: Weekly checkin - July 8

  • Carrie from Florida

TTC #1 since January. Finishing up 3rd cycle since d&c.

    Charting/temping, opks

12dpo, BFN yesterday, plus temp is dropping

Pretty certain this cycle is a dud. Feeling super discouraged. And the bad voice in my head keeps reminding me how old I am.

QOTW: What is one of your bigger pet peeves?  Mean comments on the Bump. I'm so glad TTC after 35 isn't like that. The TTGP board can get ugly sometimes.

    TTC#1 since Jan 2015
    BFP 2/19/15  •  MMC found at 9 wks  •  D&E at 11 wks (age 36)
    BFP 8/29/15
      •  CP (age 37)
    BFP 11/18/15  •  DD born at 41 weeks <3(age 37/38)

    TTC#2 since May 2017
BFP 10/18/17  •  MMC found at 8 wks  •  Misoprostal at 10.5 wks (age 39)

    BFP 2/16/18
      •  CP (age 39)
    BFP 4/13/18
      •  CP (age 39)
    BFP 5/07/18  •  MMC found at 10.5 wks  •  D&E at 11.5 wks
    •  Testing showed it was a girl with Trisomy 22. (age 39/40)
9/5/18 Diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve (4-5 follicles, one ovary had none and was very atrophied)

RE says the low egg count is likely causing my recurrent pregnancy loss. Less eggs results in more aneuploidy.

    BFP 9/24/18  •
    CP (age 40)
    BFP 5/11/19  •  Fraternal twins  •  MMC found at 10w5d (Baby A 6w, Baby B 10w)  •  Misoprostal at 11 weeks (age 41)

  • Knottie somenumber aka Erin from NJ

    TTC#2 (for me)

    Temping/charting, opks

    DPO #4 (I hope!)

I feel bleh but DH (as always) feels optimistic. I think I'm just got and cranky.

My pet peeve? People who don't use turn signals.

DH got a FT job! Thank goodness! So exciting! Two incomes will be sooooo nice.
  • Loading the player...
  • And @CarrieandRoy other boards ARE brutal! I saw one where they were just mocking other women. It seemed cruel...
  • Kathleen in GA

    TTC #1, 3 cycles done.

Taking a break this month, getting some testing and acupuncture.  HSG was miserable, but results were good!  Acupuncture is weird, but I'm into it.

CD 10, expect to surge tomorrow (tracking ovulation with OPK and temps).

I think it was wise to take a break.  I'm hopeful that I'm getting my body into better and better condition to actually conceive, if that's in the stars for me, and I'm taking care of myself better this month.

    No pet peeves today.

But @CarrieandRoy, I hear you!  I think some abruptness on TTGP can be helpful (symptom spotting will drive you nuts, so it helps to be aware how futile it is), but it's possible to go too far.

Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science

    7 IUIs, 7 BFNs.
2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs.
Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire.
Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus!
fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP!
Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)

  • efhoping2010/WY

IVF/ICSI/MESA #4 but FET 2 with 2 CCS Normal Blasts, the first at the big clinic.

Please see history for the details :)

Had second bloodwork this morning for E2 and P4, also had lining check/us, the nurse said I had a triple layer/trilaminar, YAY. Today I end lupron and start PIO, the nurse drew my circles for self injection.  I also start doxycycline and Medrol and more bloodwork tomorrow for transfer on 7/13.

I am nervous/excited/hopeful and feeling scared about actually being potentially pregnant soon

    Preparing to TTC #2

I am tracking and OPK. I have a basil thermometer arriving this week.

O'd today according to FF and 1 positive OPk

Not actively TTc so nothing to feel about that. But feeling so stupid with all I don't know about my own body.

Pet peeve would be people who don't pick up their feet while walking. I have someone who shuffles back and forth at work. Drives me nuts.

    2. TTC #2 for 6mo

    3. Seeing an RE. Husband has been tested. I Have had all my blood work drawn. Had a saline ultrasound. I have pretty bad scar tissue from my csection. Because of it they have postponed my HSG and I have to have a hysteroscopy on Friday.
I know it is an important diagnostic test but I'm frustrated that I had to be put on the pill for it. I feel like it is another month wasted....

    4. On the pill for my test :(

    5. Nervous but anxious to get all this testing done and put a plan in place!

Wishing everyone luck this month :)
  • 1. Amanda Marie from Maryland

    2. TTC #1, 1st month

    3. Charting/Temping

    4. TWW, tested once (too early), but will test this weekend unless period starts.

    5. I'm still eh.  first one off the pill, so being patient as my body adjusts.  Sleeping issues aren't helping.

Pet Peeve: people that swear too much.  And I agree with the comments above, some of those other boards are rough!  I pretty much just stick to this one and peak at the (very quiet) natural birth board.
  • 1. Your Name or Screen Name (not full names) and State you are from.
    Heather from MN

    2. How long have you been TTC? Are you TTC #1,#2,#3, etc.?
    TTC #2 since May 2014

    3. What are you doing this cycle? Are you seeking help with a fertility specialist (RE)? If so, what stage are you in? Charting/temping? Testing? Medicated cycles? IUI? IVF? DE?
IUI #5 with GonalF, trigger, progesterone supps.  Also doing the lower carb, low sugar, high protein, no alcohol, no diet pop, low caffeine diet.  And taking a giant handful of supplements every morning including CoQ10, DHA, PNV, Vits C, D, and E, Folic Acid.

    4. Where are you in your cycle? (Waiting to O, 2WW etc) If in the 2ww when will you test?
CD18, 7dpiui.  Beta is in 5 days.  EEK!  I'm still not sure I'll test before beta - the only reason I'm thinking I may is that I'll get the results call at work and I don't know that I want to be blindsided by a BFN.  But, Sunday is only 11 dpiui so kind of early.

    5. How do you feel about this cycle? (Are you hopeful, anxious... etc)
I'm feeling kind of hopeful.  I vacillated for the last few days between being REALLY positive and being REALLY negative.  I've decided to just be positive for the last few days till beta.  Can't hurt.  I hope that doesn't lead to being crushed if it's a BFN.

QOTW: What is one of your bigger pet peeves?
Hmmm.  Used to be people who were late, but now I'm that person since I can't seem to get myself and my daughter out of the house in a timely manner anymore.  :((

Feel free to add any vents or shout outs.
I'm shouting out to the elusive BFP!  We need a few around this place .... SOON!!!!

    Me - 41 (PCOS), Hubby - 43 (healthy)
7/2013 - Sweet baby girl born (Clomid + TI)

    2. ttc #1 for a while

    3. IVF cycle #2

    4. 13 days past 3 day transfer -- beta tomorrow!!!

    5. I go between feeling really optimistic and then certain that its not going to happen. Going for optimism for the final stretch!!!

Either way looking forward to knowing. I was doing fine with the PIO shots for the first 2 wks- just minor symptoms. But they have been kicking my butt this week -- i have been really groggy and much more nauseous. So looking forward to having a good reason to have these symptoms or stopping the progesterone if its all for naught.

QOTW: People who don't use turn outs and pullover to let cars behind them pass. Drive me bonkers on my commute every afternoon!

@Knottie -- congrats on your DHs job!!

@efhoping2010 - thanks!!!  I am very dependent on my sharpie circles -- i keep redrawing them and start to get anxious if they fade too much (don't want to hit that sciatic nerve!!).

@jeniferk08 - i started ttc at 39 and when i started researching everything i felt so lame that i had gone this far in my life with so little knowledge of my body and cycle!! So it goes....

@emsmama15 -- so hoping this is your cycle!!!

  • Update, I spoke too soon.

While the remote monitoring clinic saw triple pattern my RE said the lining itself is way too thin only 6mm, blah.

So FET for Monday 7/13 is not going to happen.

I now stay on Lupron and add vaginal Estrace too and have another lining check next Wednesday 7/15.

    Possible FET now 7/20 :(:(

I found this out after my weekly acupuncture and am feeling very devastated.

I have fears and concerns that now I will not make it to FET.

    So sad..........

  • 1. BulgariHeart - Bicoastal.

    2. TTC #1. Tried for two cycles and will resume in August since this current cycle I'll be traveling during the fertile window.

    3. Since I won't be trying this month, I'm taking a break from temping. I started seeing a Chinese doctor/acupuncturist and have a few herbal remedies to take to improve circulation and warm up the body, so I'll be doing that and continue with acupuncture sessions on top of my regular natural supplementation regimen, which the doctor approved. I have Vit B complex, Vit D3, trace minerals, zinc, Vit C, CoQ10, Royal jelly, calcium/magnesium complex, probiotics, DHA, Tocotrienols and I forget what else...

    4. CD2. I sobbed and cried loud, angry tears yesterday. At the same time, I am happy to have finally started acupuncture! What needs to be addressed and improved has already become clear so I'm confident that I'm going in the right direction. I feel it working already, as my current period is less heavy than usual.

    5. I'm just going to focus on further improving my health and balance and take the rest one step at a time.

    @efhoping2010, fx for you.

I say whoever gets pregnant next shares the baby with everyone. Just ship it around in a box with holes. And don't worry -- we'll put some lettuce in there or something. I'm not a monster.

  • @CarrieandRoy - totally agree!  I can't stand the boards that jump on people when you are supposed to feel like this is your safe place.
@dolphin012 - crossing everything for you and good Beta's - keep us posted!!
@Knottie - yeah for work and money!!
@efhoping2010 - sending hugs! maybe 7/20 will be your day!
@emsmama15 - I hope this month works for you - we've been on here too long!

To everyone else - good luck!

    1. happyktmom from VA

    2. TTC#2 for 15 months now ?  I can't believe it's been that long!

    3. Just did Vitex in large doses CD3-10, will do Progesterone cream, also taking PNV, Vit D, CoQ10 and Fish Oil

    4. CD17, I believe I am O'ing right now.  Against my better judgement I have been using OPK's (wondfo's line is getting darker and First Response OPK line is getting lighter - WTH?!)

    5. I think we got timing down this month - I'm going to go ahead and get my hopes up this month!

Pet peeves?  Random people asking me and my 3 year old when she will have a sibling?  You never know what people are going through and asking that question is much more personal that people realize.  I remember when having trouble TTC#1 how people would bug me about it and I had to act like we were waiting.  It's just very painful.

    2. TTC #1, not preventing since 11/12, actively trying since 8/14

    3. OPKs, temping, prenatals, inositol supplements, evening primrose oil, Vitamin E, Zinc, probiotics, cayenne, Vitamin B, increased dose of Vitex (CD 3-9) and just started licorice (CD 3-9). Still on progesterone (Prometrium, 200mg), starting the day after O. Trying to increase protein, decrease sugars/carb, and exercise more but I haven’t done as well this past week because of partying at my grandparents place in Florida :O)

    4. CD 8, waiting to O...

    5. I’m really feeling like taking a break this cycle. I’ll still do OPKs and BD at the right times, but I think I need a mental break from trying so hard. I’m starting acupuncture in a couple of weeks and really hoping that will help with regulating my cycles (or at least relieving some of the TTC stress). My current insurance runs out at the end of this month so we are looking into a new insurance plan (hopefully one that covers a RE but it’s tough because H and I are both self-employed). Also, I’m without an obgyn right now (the last one was through student health and I’m no longer a student). She gave me 5 refills on the progesterone so I’m set as far as that goes but not sure if I should try to find another one right away just to “check in” with someone and to get another opinion about my TTC status. Or should I just wait until I get close to running out of progesterone or I end up pregnant (whichever happens first)?

@CarrierandRoy - OMG, yes! Some of the other boards scare me!! I remember reading one that said, “Don’t feed the troll” just because someone new asked a silly question. The poor woman was like, “Um, I’m not a troll.” It was just terrible. And the sharing the baby idea made me really crack up!

@emsmama15 - I’m so excited for you!! I really hope this is your time! Let us know if you POAS before Monday…

@dolphin012 - fingers crossed for you!! Can't wait to hear the results from the beta!

@happyktmom - do you think the high dose of Vitex does anything? This is my second cycle trying it…I have one more day so hopefully I’ll O early again like last cycle. Oh, and I agree about the people asking personal TTC questions. I can’t believe how many people ask me and H - “Where are the babies?” I find it so hard to not just break down and cry right there and tell everyone about all the struggles I’ve gone through. Instead I just smile and say, “We’re working on it.”

As far as my pet peeve, I hate it when people spit or throw or toss gum outside. As if nature is their garbage can. It’s just gross.

And lastly, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring us a BFP soon!!! We need the positive vibes to keep the hope alive. Someone! Anyone! Please!  [-O<

    1. Your Name or Screen Name (not full names) and State you are from.
    Tomerine from MA

    2. How long have you been TTC? Are you TTC #1,#2,#3, etc.?
    TTC#2 since January

    3. What are you doing this cycle? Are you seeking help with a fertility specialist (RE)? If so, what stage are you in? Charting/temping? Testing? Medicated cycles? IUI? IVF? DE?
Temping, Opks, prenatal vitamin, and Clomid this cycle

    4. Where are you in your cycle? (Waiting to O, 2WW etc) If in the 2ww when will you test?
Waiting to O... got the flashing smiley this morning, so it's coming.

    5. How do you feel about this cycle? (Are you hopeful, anxious... etc)
Blah.  My mood vacillates quickly (the residual Clomid? I have been more teary lately, but my sister is also having a mastectomy next week, so that's also impacting, well, everything).  I am hopeful, I guess. I'm not really feeling very ovulation-y or ready-to-go, and dreading the TWW.

QOTW: What is one of your bigger pet peeves?
Poor grammar.  @CarrieandRoy, I totally agree about "should of."  I once got an email from a guy I went on a date with that said he doesn't "take things for granite."  Ugh.  That was the end of that!
  • @efhoping2010 - I'm sorry your transfer got moved back.  Ugh.  But I guess you want that lining nice and thick so those little embryos cuddle in.  I hope 7/20 is your day!!

@dolphin012 - I'm keeping everything crossed for a good strong beta tomorrow!!!   :D

    2. ttc #4 - I think a year now.

    3. charting and temping - lots of sex :)  H has actually been on board with all the sex this month - it's amazing.

    4. I have no clue.  I should be in the tww.  My cm would indicate that I have already o'd; however, my temp is still pre-o range.  H keeps the thermostat low, and our bedroom is in the basement, and I'm a mouth breather so I'm hoping that all adds up to low temps that really aren't that low.  Who knows, maybe I'll get a birthday BFP, even though my birthday really would be too early to test.  :)

    5. I have mixed emotions.  I'm anxious and hopeful because I really do want another child, but now I'm getting kind of nervous like what if it really does happen, what am I gonna do.  My youngest is 7.  Plus, I had an excellent job interview on Wednesday and I go on Monday to meet with the CEO and VP.  I really feel like I have this job in the bag and getting pregnant right after starting might not be the best thing.

QOTW: What is one of your bigger pet peeves?  Smacking bubble gum.  My 14 year old does it and it drives me bonkers.

Feel free to add any vents or shout outs
Good luck to everyone.  I have everything crossed for more BFP's this month!

  • Thank you @CarrieandRoy . It's an anxious time, but I know she'll be ok.
