Ladies, it is a us law that your insurance cover a breast pump for free. If you need the number to find out which kind and to get it sent to you here it is.
(855)567-8669 I hope if you didn't know that this will be helpful to you!!
It's not a law that all plans have to cover it. Only under new health plans. People who have grandfathered plans may not be covered. Also, some plans cover a portion of the breast pump or only a single manual one.
How can I get it delivered to me? When I called my insurance they said to have my Dr write me a prescription for one after my son is born. Idk what to do with it after that though and I keep forgetting to call them and find out.
It's all dependent on your insurance. You have to call and they tell you exactly what to do! Even when insurance "doesn't" cover it there is a descrepency email you send and they pretty much approve all of them. There are insurances that cover dr prescription o ly but it's not limited to a time frame as far as I've ever heard.

I called my insurance directly and they said they don't cover it... anyone have another suggestion on how i should go about it?
Other than going over your plan with a fine tooth comb to see if they told you incorrectly that you aren't covered, you're probably just going to have to buy one out of pocket. Or rent one from the hospital.
And there can be time limits on them, for example, my insurance will only cover within 2 weeks of my due date. There are so many insurances, and each one covers with different rules, levels etc. And some as pp have discussed were grandfathered in and don't have to. I would suggest if no coverage to either rent from hospital or even BRU.
