Child Care expenses on taxes

Hi all, My husband and I found an amazing woman to take care of our newborn once she arrives AND will work with our breaks (we're both teachers and have a lot of time off). She doesn't charge us for the breaks or summer. The only catch is that she doesn't claim on her taxes. I'm assuming this means we can't claim on ours, but I was wondering if the benefits of how much we'd be saving outweigh the ability to claim? Any input is welcomed! Thanks :)

Re: Child Care expenses on taxes

  • We also take DD to an in home daycare that doesn't claim it so we don't get to claim it either. I figure we pay so much less than normal daycare it all works itself out in the end.
