I've been diagnosed with it for years now and I know doctors say it's a heart condition the wont interfere with a healthy pregnancy, but it is still something I definitely have been feeling an increase in being pregnant. Just curious if anyone else has this condition as well!
I don't have a mitral valve prolapse, but have ARVD, which is a rhythm condition. Pregnancy exacerbated the palpitations, but it was never too bad. It was worse for me PP due to stress and lack of sleep.
@ashlelyn, I also have MVP! I have also been told that it won't interfere with a healthy pregnancy. I am planning to keep a closer watch on my heart rate during exercise.
I do. I had just had an echo and met with my cardiologist just before I found out I was pregnant b/c I was having a ton of PVCs. All checked out fine, but it's definitely annoying. When I'm laying down I can definitely feel irregular heart beat, but it's really no different than before. I'm going to see cardiologist again in a month and he and my midwife are in contact so if anything should be an issue hopefully we'll catch it.
I have a "mystery heart condition" and my heart rate fluctuates and can get up into the 180s with daily activities. My doctor also heard a murmur that she thought sounded like MVP but I haven't completed my testing to confirm since I found out I was pregnant. Have any of you had heart rate issues like this? I read they sometimes occur alongside MVP.
Re: Does anyone else here have Mitral Valve Prolapse?
