Is it safe to do light workouts during pregnancy when I didn't work out prior to becoming pregnant?

Up until my early 20's I was an active person. I haven't worked out consistently in awhile, however, I eat fairly healthy and have no issues working out. I'm just bad at keeping at it. I'm in my second trimester and would like to do some basic light workouts. I began yoga, but I would like to do some arm curls and a few exercises for my arms and legs. Is this an option? I'm not trying to get lean, rather, I'm just trying to lean.
