no dilation!?!

So I just had my appt today. I'm 38+2 weeks and I'm 75% effaced but not dilated at all. Also baby is at a -2 station yet.

Anyone else in this situation? I feel like I should be farther along.

I don't know my situation but everyone is different. You could very well go into labor tomorrow. Dilation does not nessecarily mean labor is coming.

I was checked a week ago at 37 weeks, nothing was happening at all. So you're not alone!

Same here, at 37 nothing was going on. Wouldn't worry about it. Ftm rarely dilate beforehand. And it doesn't indicate anything anyway like PP said. Although I will get nervous if nothing happens by 40 weeks because my doctor won't induce if there is no dilation :l

It means nothing, baby could be in your arms tomorrow. My provider doesn't do checks routinely because they don't give you any real information. My MW once told me, all she cares about is whether I'm fully dilated and she doubts anyone would be walking around that way

I had my 38week apt today and still nothing for me! Baby is still way up in my ribs and no dilation or thinning or anything... I feel like she is never going to come out!! So I feel your pain but as everyone said, this could change overnight so we'll see!
