  • So Josslyn is made up? Our neighbors have a Josslyn, which I always assumed her name was Jocelyn until they gave us a card and I saw the spelling.

  • You must have been on the BMBs. What a hot mess of names out there.
    Guilty as charged.

  • Alizabeth is the one I can't get over. Barf.

I know. There are tons of variations of Elizabeth, diminutives and such, and not one of them is Alizabeth.

Thank you. As an Elizabeth, this deeply offends me.

WHERE did Brinley/ Brynnley come from, and can we send it back there? I haven't come across it here (NYC) but it's been popping up among my Southern relatives.
One of my FB friends (I think I went to HS with her?) has a Brayley.

  • My cousins name is Denver. I don't think its a horrible choice for a name.

  • No. Just no.

  • My sister is brynn. She's 30- Way before the trend. It was an old family name: Scottish or Irish I think. As an aside, I've met an "Heir", like "heir to the throne". Barf.

Most place names don't work well, unless they were a name first and a place second (Virginia, Georgia, etc.) It always makes me think, maybe these people named the kid based on where they were conceived...gross.

This. I always wonder the same thing

I had a student once that was Key (FN) West MN). Literally Key West. I always assumed they just had some fun in vacation once.

  • I heard rumor once, but am unsure of the truth, that there is a child in the area named Easton. Last name West. Or maybe it's the other way around. Maybe he's Weston East. But I'm pretty sure it's Easton West

I am one too. Interestingly enough, this is a gem I discovered on a birthday invitation when i was seven.

Kid filled them all out himself.

    Maybe that's what happened here?

I read "Blech" about seven times.
