Hey girls! First time posting on TB, but I was and am quite active on my anniversary board on the TN, (we've moved to Facebook since then). Just got my BFP a week ago after 6 months of trying with my DH. I have my first appointment with a midwife scheduled for July 17 (does that seem late to any of you?). It's my first pg so I don't know what to expect, what's normal, when I should see a dr, etc. By my calculation, EDD will be Feb 6, 2016. I've been temping and charting for a while, so I'm pretty confident in that, but again, HAVEN'T SEEN A DR. When is everyone's first appt scheduled?
*UPDATE* they think I'm 7.5 weeks cuz my last period was April 21, but I know I had a weird cycle and I chart and temp so I know I didn't ovulate until may 23. So good thing I'm seeing a midwife cuz I feel like a Dr would set my due date in January and then freak out and push a c-section when I'm late. But at least I got an earlier appt! June 19.
I was high risk with my first pregnancy so my midwife wanted to see me right away this time around but a few of my friends who have been pregnant have said that their doctors didn't schedule their first appointments until they were 8-10 weeks so I believe that is more of the norm if you have no previous problems WELCOME!
Welcome! I scheduled my first apt for the 26th. I should be 7 weeks 4 days at that point. It will be after my last loss point so I'm hoping that if we make it that far we will be in the clear
Congrats and welcome! My first appointment is June 30, making me around 8 weeks. But I know that plenty of doctors do it differently. From bringing you in asap for blood work versus not seeing you until 10 weeks or so, I've heard all of those. So, even though it may feel long, that may be totally normal for your doctor or your area.
Well again, never been pregnant before, so I really don't know what to expect or what's normal. But as far as I know, I would not be considered high risk. I'm a new patient to this midwife, so that's another reason it's taking so long. I'll be 8 weeks PO by then.
I'm actually surprised my doc is waiting until I'm nearly 8 weeks considering I'm 35 and on meds for high blood pressure, but it's my first time pregnant, so I really don't know what to expect. My first U/S and exam are scheduled for June 19.
This is my 2nd pregnancy and the 1st time around I was seen just before 9 weeks for the first time. It really is dependent on your specific doctor/midwife.
ETA: I haven't scheduled my first appointment yet this time around but I assume it will be around the same time frame since I will be using the same doctor.
My first appt is June 17. Hoping to get an u/s scheduled shortly thereafter. My dr is out of town until then so fingers crossed that I don't need to be seen before then. This is my first pregnancy over 35 so not sure what all will be different yet.

My appointment isn't until July 8th! I'll be just over 9 weeks. This is my second pregnancy though and the first one went really smoothly. So now I wait.
My first appointment is June 9. This will be an initial appointment to fill out paperwork and answer questions. My first u/s appt is June 16. I will be 7 weeks. I don't know if this is the norm or not. I'm a first time mama too. I'm not entirely sure of what to expect either. Luckily, there are a lot of very knowledgeable women here who are already mothers!

AHH! My first appt is a month after some of yours or right around some of your second appts! My dr said it was fine, but I'll be 10 weeks! That's almost out of my first tri without seeing a dr yet!!
Congrats and welcome! Do you have an OB yet? If so, I'd call her and let her know that you have a BFP and ask what the next steps are. Every OB office does it a little differently. If you don't have an OB yet, maybe start researching them, choose one, and call them for an initial appointment.
For DS, I found out I was pregnant at 6.5 weeks. I went in for a blood pregnancy test to confirm and they brought me in the next day for my first ultrasound. I'm happy I brought DH with me because we got to hear the heartbeat for the first time at that appointment. One of the best days of my life.
Now, with baby #2, they said they want to wait until I'm 7-8 weeks along to schedule the first appointment slash ultrasound. I'm scheduled for June 18th, based on calculations from my last period.
@Life is Exciting I have a regular OB, but I wanted a midwife for this pregnancy, so I'm new to the midwife. They said they schedule the first appt 6-8 weeks after you FOUND OUT. I originally had an appt for June 19, but it was weird timing (late for a blood test, early for an u/s, I think). I called and asked when I was supposed to have my first appt, and they told me that, then scheduled me with a different midwife for July 2, but that's only 5 weeks after I found out. I called back disputing the math and asking for my first appt back and maybe schedule another one a little later, preferably with my first choice midwife, and they said the June 19 appt was gone, but if I wanted a later appt with my first choice midwife, I could have July 17. It just seems REALLY late. I feel like a sucker; calling for an earlier appt and settling with a later appt.
Congrats!! We are working with a fertility specialist and I'm high risk, so I go in every week. I don't recall the regular schedule with the OB with my first child, but seems my first appt might have been around 8-10 weeks.

I'm not seeing the dr until I'm almost 11 weeks too! Seems weird to me but that's how this dr office does it I guess!
K so I called again. And I rescheduled for the 4th time. I'm in for June 19 now. My weird cycle is what got me an earlier appt. I know I'm currently at 17 DPO, but my last period was April 21. So the lady thought I was 7.5 weeks. I'm not, but if it gets me an earlier appt, I'll take it!
I went to a clinic just to confirm pregnancy. It makes it easier to actually get in with our doctors office. I called today to set an appointment and they are seeing me next week. June 9th! I have never been seen that early with my other two, and granted they won't do anything but get my health history and what not, but it's still nice to have it sooner.

You may want to confirm with your OB that you should continue on your HBP meds since some are contraindicated in pregnancy.
My first appointment is next Tuesday (6/9). I'll be 6 weeks and 1 day based on my LMP. I'm not sure how I feel about it being so soon. My last pregnancy I had a transvaginal ultrasound on my first visit which I was not expecting at all. I was only 5 weeks along. I got a call at work the following week and was told I had to go back to the office that day. They even scheduled an appointment for me after hours since I couldn't leave. I was freaking out the whole day! The OB I originally saw was concerned that the pregnancy wasn't viable and wanted me to do additional blood work. Everything turned out fine but I almost wish my appointment this time around was a little later along.
