Re: Baby due 20th November

  • No but I am also due November 20th. Are some of these test age based because a lot of the test I read about on the threads, I haven't done not one.

  • I'm also due Nov 20! What a quad test? We had the first tri screening at 12 wks.

I'm due nov 20th as well! I turned down a test they offered me a few weeks ago because insurance wouldn't cover it, but have blood work and the anatomy scan in June.
  • I am also due Nov 20th! So far I've only had an 11 week US. Results for my NT were normal so my next US will be the 18-20 week gender scan.
  • I'm due the 20th too. I haven't experienced any of that but I do have appointments every 4 weeks that started at the 10th week, I have my anatomy scan July 6.

This just popped up in my weekly baby update:

    Health Tip
The Quadruple Marker is a screening procedure that measures the amount of four substances in your blood to help determine the likelihood of certain problems occurring. The four substances measured are:
    1. Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP)
    2. Unconjugated estriol (uEST)
    3. Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG)
    4. Analyte inhibin (lnh)
The Quadruple Marker screening can predict approximately 75-80% of open neural tube defects, approximately 75% of Down syndrome cases in women under age 35 and over 80% of Down syndrome cases in women age 35 years and older. It's important that this test is performed between 15 and 20 weeks of pregnancy, counting from your last menstrual period. Because there are uncertainties surrounding test results, please consult your doctor to determine if Quadruple Marker screening is right for you.
  • I had a newer genetic test called the Harmony test with my last pregnancy. I think it's a little different than the quad but it tests for three of the most common genetic syndroms and gives you an almost 100% accurate answer, as I've read and learned, it's not diagnostic and your doctor would have to confirm it in ultrasound too.
My DH and I are expecting our first child! A boy.. we're thrilled :)http://www.thebump.com/profiles/kestes946/settings/avatar/index# BabyFruit Ticker BabyName Ticker Anniversary Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • I had the quad screen and it came back positive for downs. I'm really freaked out. Has anyone else had this happen?
  • I'm due 11/20 as well! I think the quad screen is what's offered to low risk women instead of the cell free DNA test. With my 1st (6 years ago) they offered us the triple screen, which we declined. I think it's just a newer, more robust version of that. We had our Cell Free DNA screen & a screen for neural tube defects which both came back clear. Wishing you well!!
  • I'm due 11/20 also. I had genetic screening test done via progenity. They draw sample of blood and I believe is over 95% accurate. Fortunately test came back with all being well for baby and baby looked good at 11.6 week U/S. So next U/S is on 6/25 when I am 18.6 weeks.
  • @TerranCurry83 I hope all will be well with you and baby. Test could potentially be false/positive. Best of luck!
