Boat riding

Thoughts on riding in a boat while pregnant? We're at the beach and my brother and some people want to go out in the boat tomorrow to a little island. I'm sure it's fine but there's just so many boats around on holiday weekends that it scares me a little bit with all that bouncing around. I'm probably just being over paranoid.

I'm sure it's fine. I don't know a lot about riding on a boat but as long as you were a life jacket; it should be ok. Hopefully, someone can give you more insight. Just wanted to put my input.

  • Why wouldn't it be safe? Your baby is super padded.
You might get sea sick more easily but I wouldn't worry about anything else.
  • I just went for a boat ride a few days ago. I'm no doctor, but I can't see it being a bad thing. It was a pretty smooth ride for me, not like speed boat status or anything. I would say enjoy!
  • We have a boat and go out often. I get horrible motion sickness so haven't gone out for the last few weeks, but it's fine.

  • I've been out on our boat all day & fully intend to spend my summer out on the river. Totally fine. No life jacket. It's not required by the US Coast Guard that an adult wears one. I would probably stay away from water sports :) & stay hydrated! Have fun.

(Obviously if your doctor has given you restrictions due to being high risk you should probably check with him/her)
  • I actually asked my doctor about this last week in anticipation of this weekend. He said it was fine, but to skip tubing or really rough waves like jet skiing. (mainly bc of a previous loss, we are extra cautious)

I asked my doctor this when I was pregnant with my DD. He said it was fine just no rough waves.
