Defrosting meat in microwave?

I had chicken thawing in the fridge but it didn't totally thaw so I defrosted in the microwave for maybe 3 minutes. It started cooking in some parts. Is it safe to eat once I cook it all the way through?

As I am no expert, but I think it's just fine to eat. I did the same thing the other day and I am fine!
