Progesterone

Hi everyone! Is anyone else taking progesterone pills? I had to take some with my first pregnancy. I had bloodwork done last Friday (4 weeks, 6 days) and my progesterone level was 7.6. So I started the pills yesterday and I go back for more bloodwork tomorrow. Hoping it goes up!

Re: Progesterone

  • There's a couple posts about this. I had my bloodwork done last week at 4w5d and mine was low too at 4.4! Doc put me on a suppository called Crinone. It makes me a little relieved to see I'm not alone with having to supplement. All the best to you @htran1313 !

I'm 4w5d also and just got put on a Progesterone suppository yesterday as I was 15.4 and they'd like me at least a 20? So far I feel like they are helping although only time will tell!
  • Thanks @PreggoInTheCity! Good luck to you too! Last time I did the suppositories but this time they gave me pills. Not sure why the difference but I'm hoping it doesn't make me feel sick! I'm feeling great this time, no sickness!
  • Hey ladies! Are you experiencing cramps with the Progesterone? I am using the Endometrin (suppository) and I'm not sure if my (period like) cramps are from the Progesterone or just from being pregnant. I keep getting worried! Thanks ladies!
  • I just started taking them tonight because I have had some spotting. Hoping this helps... I hear they make you sick and I already have horrible morning sickness, blahhh. I'm literally counting the days till the 2nd trimester.

@jessicathomas28 I think my cramps have gotten better since starting the progesterone...but it's only been 2 days so maybe it's some other reason?
  • I, too, am taking the progesterone in pill form. I have some cramps, but I had them before I started taking the pills. I have a horribly dry mouth in the morning (I take it before going to bed), and I sometimes wake up and have to drink water during the night. I'll take the symptoms since I know it's helping :)

  • Like @lemasted ,I too wake up and drink water in the middle of the night from a dry mouth. Although, I'd be up anyway to pee. I have cramps, but not like a period, more just like I know something is going on in there, but it's all over sometimes and sometimes just in one spot. I had this before going on the Progestrone last week, so I think that's just pregnancy itself. Although it seems a lot of the side effects listed could be attributed to pregnancy, so who really knows?! As long as it helps me (and you ladies), I'm all for it!
