Bad cold/allergies at 16 weeks

i had thought I was battling allergies for going on 10 days now but now I'm wondering if it's a cold.
It started at sneezing and runny nose, then super sore throat from drainage, and now it's lots of coughing from drainage. So much coughing it's making my uterus hurt :(
Anyone have any ideas for making this better? I haven't had a fever and I don't normally have allergy issues. I took Benadryl on and off for a few days and it helped a little with the drainage but not all the way.

If you can find any local honey it helps tremendously.

  • I'm sick too it's horrible! I think I'm getting an ear infection also so I think inhale to make a trip to the doctor. I can hardly breathe :(
  • I had bad allergies at 14/15 weeks, I thought it was a bad cold so I went to the doctor. Since there isn't much they can prescribe that is safe for the baby, they put me on over the counter Zyrtec and saline nasal spray (non-medicated from the baby section). I was feeling better within 2 days and after one week I'm only slightly stuffed up. I also got a baby vapor bath soap which helped a lot during the really bad days. I hope you start to feel better soon, you might want to check and see if your doctor is ok with you taking Zyrtec or Claritin which is the other baby safe allergy medication my doctor said I could take.

agree- ask your doc about claritin or zyrtec!! i am taking claritin, approved by the doc. it doesn't make things 100% better but without it i'd be miserable.

    also, love your name oywiththepoodlesalready!!!
