MH and I have been trying to move to FL for the past year (housing market sucks and our house wont sell ) I saw in an earlier post that you live in FL - Melbourne. That is where I want to move to. DH wants to move to the clearwater area. Any pros and cons you can give me about melbourne? TIA!!

Let's see.  I can tell you that Clearwater has one of the highest retired statuses in Florida.  Meaning more retired individuals per capita.  You have the water right here.  You have Orlando 30ish minutes away.  For the airport and/or Disney and such.  Having access to Orlando is awesome in that anything not in Melbourne is available there and it's close enough to go and enjoy but not close enough to have the city affect your crime rate or population or anyything along those lines. 

I know that in the time that I have been living here we have had the least impact from hurricanes then most areas.  South and west coast took harder hits every year.

The school systems here are really good.  Melbourne and beachside are all Grade A systems.  You have Cape Canaveral so you can watch the shuttle launches from your own back yard.

I lived on the east coast (Ft Lauderdale) and my parents live in the Ft Myers area. We have been hit by some of the hardest storms in the last couple years so stay a little further north like she says!!
