I don't feel pregnant??

I'm 16 weeks 6 days, and I dont feel pregnant at all? I mean I get sick occasionally from smells and have cravings now and then but it doesn't feel like it's real yet, I guess. I recently went to the doctors and got to hear baby's heartbeat and in 4 weeks we will find out the gender! I am very excited to be a mom but I feel detatched and not pregnant. Anyone else feel this way?

Re: I don't feel pregnant??

  • I'm 14+5 and feel the same way. It's had me a little down. I'll find out the gender in 4 weeka.but with no bump, no movement, no symptoms its hard to feel connected to the pregnancy.

  • I think this is normal! A friend who actually delivered last night said that up until then, someone could have said she just swallowed a basketball and she would have believed them!
  • once baby is a little bit bigger and you start to feel stronger consistent movement to you will definitely be reminded on a daily and even hourly basis so there's a little person inside of you :-)
  • Thanks! I'm glad that I'm not alone on this and other people feel the same!
  • Try to enjoy feeling good, you're one of the lucky ones! Even us, still sick in second trimester ladies, can feel detached and unsure of the whole being pregnant thing.
  • Me neither, I cannot relate to the majority of posts I see. Food cravings and aversions...morning sickness and nausea....mood swings???? I don't get any of it. I feel like I always do.

  • I'm 16 weeks and 6 days too! I don't feel pregnant either. I have no symptoms anymore and no real bump yet. The only thing that happens that reminds me is little pains when I'm sitting or laying in a way baby doesn't like.

I hear ya! I'm 18 weeks and still in my skinny jeans! Finally over morning sickness and was starting to worry a bit bc I'm not showing much at all. But then today I was watching tv and felt my baby squirming around in there! She must be growing bc I could definitely feel some kicking :)
  • I don't feel pregnant at all. I'm 18 weeks with twins. Which means my pregnancy is probably halfway over. I've gained 9 pounds but I don't look pregnant, just chubby. I have an anterior placenta so I haven't felt them move at all. I can 100% see how some women don't know they're pregnant for long periods of time. Makes me kinda sad that I'm this far in and don't feel any different.
  • So glad this isn't just me. I'm 14+2 and I honestly feel just like a chubbier version of myself right now. We made the official announcement Tuesday night and I woke up Wednesday morning feeling 100% normal and the tiny bump I was starting to have disappeared!

Naturally my crazy hormone addled brain immediately thought, great we jinxed it by announcing, now something's wrong.

Trying to stay positive and remember that eventually I'm going to feel so pregnant I'll be in agony.

  • I'm 14+5 weeks as well and just completely disconnected from the little life growing in me. I'm sure once I start to show and I can start feeling movement, it'll all connect... but until then I just feel like I'm having a whole ton of blood work and Dr appointments for nothing... plus a really long case of the flu. ;)
