Bed Rest Check-In 4/14/15

I'm running a little behind this week - lots going on!  Hope all is well with everyone :-)  Also - sorry about the formatting - can't seem to get this right!

This is a check-in to offer support and encouragement to each other while facing the challenge of bed rest during pregnancy.
And please keep us posted when your little one arrives!

QOTW: I'm doing pretty good! Started this online class and though it's a lot of hard work, I'm loving it! I finally feel productive with something else other than building this baby in my womb.

I'll be 32 weeks this week and from my last appt with my MFM everything is stable. My cervix shortened to .6cm but my cerclage is in place so the dr doesn't seem too worried. However with my GD my fasting numbers are creeping up so I need to really watch my diet. I've been feeling the baby move A LOT too.

I was half hoping I could go back to work but the doc said I need to keep resting. So I'll be on BR until I have the baby. I'll be able to go back to work after I recover from birth and bond with the baby.

Just as well, I'm excited the Game of Thrones started! I got the books which I'll be starting soon.

QOTW: Doing well - finally got my login to complete training modules for my surgical residency that starts June 22. There are 99 educational modules and 40 research modules - aka they should keep me plenty busy! DH and I also bought a house so I've been dealing with getting new home and auto insurance, utilities turned on, etc.

Baby is still tolerating her low fluid very well - if this is still the case at 34 weeks (1 week from today) we will make a definitive plan on when to schedule the C-section (she's frank breech with too little fluid to flip).

@CillyMama - glad to hear things are going well.  Take it from me (still working from home) - if I didn't need the money right now I would have taken my disability leave!  Management's newest trick is thinking I am not busy enough so they are assigning me ridiculous projects like coordinating travel plans and presentations for other attorneys at my firm.

I reached V-Day this week which made me happy.  I am baby-related appointment free this week which is a nice break.  I feel like I have been living at the doctor's office.  Over the weekend a college friend gave me a ton of boys clothes ranging from newborn to 2T.  So thankful because we had no boys clothes at all before that. 

Mini-vent: I have been asked sooooo many times if twins run in the family.  It is a super nosy question from strangers considering either a) okay there are twins in your family or b)  there are not twins in the family and said strangers categorize you with Octo-Mom for doing fertility treatments.  I am going to get myself a shirt that says "Yes, it's twins. They are IVF babies. Stop judging."

I'm doing better than I was a few weeks ago, which is unexpected. My back pain has improved with acupuncture, rest, heating pads, massage, etc. I do still hit my limits quickly, I found after running to the store for ONE THING, just the walk from the car to the door about killed me. So, I'm just going to keep doing what I've been doing to maintain until delivery. I have an irritable uterus and have been having a lot of uncomfortable BH, but since this is my second pregnancy, I know what's labor and what's not. So there's not the mind game that there was last time of "Is this it?!" That said, I'm so ready for this to be over. I can't wait to hold him in my arms and not my belly!

I am new to the bump... To pregnancy... And hopefully soon new to motherhood!!! My EDD is Aug 9 2015 so im 24 weeks..im new to the site so Im not too sure what GIF or MEME is, if anyone wants to fill me in. My baby is a boy... He is trying to escape, he constantly steps on and kicks my cervix which was already incompetent... After 3 weeks of close watch and weekly measurements it dropped from 1.8 cm to 1cm... I was admitted and within 24 hours the cerclage was placed... I have only been on modified BR for a week and its driving me INSANE...dr appt tomorrow and hoperfully all is still well and they will let me back out into the world

Welcome @smartypantslexi.  You're on early modified BR like me.  Take a look at the prior bed rest post too where we discussed some books / shows etc to keep us occupied during this challenging time.

Today was rough. Just left dr and my cervix is still trying to shrink. Baby is healthy. Bad news im on an even longer BR with no definite end date. Its stressful, now i have to move... Cant afford all of my expenses on disability. Totally freaked out.
