I thought I wouldn't care about it towards the end with my first, but surprisingly, I did.  Left it to the professionals until I couldn't take the wax anymore, and then I gave care over to hubs.  He was thrilled and even though I can't say it was ever enjoyable (and definitley not the erotic activity he pictured it was going to be), he was very careful, gentle and did (I'm assuming, couldn't see) a good job.  Anyway, never got any looks at the pool or beach, so he must have at least made it neat!

A hand mirror and some extra time will be necessary in the last month-ish, but ladyscaping was still totally doable for me.

I wouldn't want to let it go wild. I had pretty bad tears with both of mine and I think it would've been a (bigger) mess down there with hair all in the way.

    This is hilarious!!!
So I've had 4 babies. With each one I've gotten waxed. I can't imagine going to my appointment or the hospital all natural...no thank you. It doesn't feel good....but it really doesn't hurt. I get a rash from waxing (sensitive skin) so I make sure I go a week before each appointment to make sure it's gone.

    Your disclaimer cracked me up!

You may be more flexible then you think! I had an employee who did her own waxing up until she gave birth!

Well unless they give me an epidural at my waxing appointment, I will continue shaving because OMG, something about pregnancy REALLY brings some nerve endings out from their death. It hurts like H#LL!!!!

Haha my hubby offered, I immediately said uh no effing way! I haven't been waxing every but I think imma go next month and see for the next tri how it goes

It will be helpful to tidy things up down there depending on your situation.  It can hurt more if the hair is really long.  If you have a  European Wax center in your area, they are speed waxers.  No need to pro-long the process.

GET WAXED! If you do it every 4-6 weeks, it hurts less and less. After my first, I got laser hair removal down there - so it's a non issue for me now. But if I hadn't, I'd be back on the wax!

I was able to do it until the end, sometimes blindly and sometimes with a mirror. I had my husband touch up the day I was admitted to be induced.

Oh no I want it short and painless. Situation is pretty bare anyways but I just think it'll be easier to wax than try to shave like I do

I wax myself with the veet strips, and it all comes off, back door area included, i'm pretty hard core when it comes to doing it. You could wet a sanitary pad with water, put it in the freezer then stick it in your underwear for 5 minutes to numb the area before you wax.

I could never get the at.home waxing to work for me, I always still ended up shaving some on the end so it got to be a why bother

I did the blind shave but I couldn't even reach by the time I got to my induction date. I should have gone for a wax just so my recovery period was easier to clean and take care of. I remember this question being asked on my last BMB and lots of ladies had their hubbies do it.

Oh, god. The thought of my husband trying to shave me gives me chills. We bicker like old biddies so I could just see him on his knees grumbling at my vagina, getting frustrated with me, and giving up halfway.

With that said I'll probably trim? But going full bushy earth mama is kind of appealing, too. I mean, when else can you?

I am waiting for this baby (last one) to get laser hair removal down there and underarms. I can't wait!!! The reason I waited was because they said pregnancy causes new hair follicles and that I would likely need more treatments after baby anyway. Have you noticed this? Or did I just waste a year? :)

Brazilian wax for the win. I was so good at keeping it maintained while I was pregnant with my first. I've been neglecting my lady bits after I delivered and forgot to do some landscaping before my doctor's appointment yesterday. It was quite a jungle down there.

My fiancee does it for me ... I prefer it when he does it.  I don't know if that's considered weird or not, but it's always been in my routine.  I'm not sure I'd trust just anyone to do it, but Toby's always gentle and has never nicked me so maybe ... read some good guides or something first?  lol

This thread is awesome. Your disclaimer- amazing!! I shave because, for some reason, I get terrible ingrown hairs from waxing. I generally keep a tidy "landing strip", but will probably shave that off for delivery. I'm not sure what I'll do once I get too big to see. I often shave with out looking now, so I'll probably give it a try myself and have DH let me know how it looks.

I used to get a rash after waxing but I put diaper rash cream on it the day after and it's been smooth sailing.

Lol! Love this! Okay so with my first two my husband shaved me, then I discovered sugaring and OMG I will never go back to shaving ever! I actually just got a fresh sugar today! It's not as bad as everyone says u less your blonde...unfortunately blonde are more sensitive in areas with hair. :-)

When H was just SO he started for me once and thought it was a turn on. I got weirder out and had him stop and finished the job myself

With my last 2 I had my hubby do it and he just used a really tiny beard trimmer...he's very precise and much of a perfectionist so it worked out great! Maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones! ;)

Just reading the subject line had me rolling. I have tears running down my face after reading the post. :) I'm with you, I don't think I will be having my hubbs shave me, I'll go for a waxing. I might not be able to see it anymore but I still want to make sure it's pretty.

Last time I did it myself until the end. Hoping for same outcome. This time i will have c-s but still i can't stand it if it bushes up even a little. So...waxing is out of the question. Never did it down there but i can't stand it even on my legs.

Look up Clean Cut on Amazon. You are generally supposed to do an initial shaving before using the trimmer, but you don't have to do a good job before using the clean cut- also the trimmer isn't going to cut you up if you can't see what you are doing. I'm thinking it will be pretty effective to use while laying in bed with a big belly.

DH uses his beard trimmer and is actually quite gentle, probably more so on me than himself. He prefers the tidy version as well, so when it gets to where I can't do it, he picks up the slack. Also, I have a free-standing, adjustable mirror that sits on my countertop, very handy for setting on the floor when you can no longer see down there.

Whenever I have always gotten that far along where I couldn't see I would still just do it myself and do the best that I could and pray that I didn't cut myself because that would suck big time. My husband has and will do it for me I just like to get it done and over with though. It's kind of like doing it blind folded so you could always blindfold yourself now and give yourself some practice. :)) Other than that of paying to get a wax I have no other suggestions.

SUGARING! Way less painful than waxing and doesn't rip you skin off. Google it in your area or Google "The Wicked Hair" the sell home use sugar. I swear by it.
