December 2015 Moms

Anyone struggling with past pregnancy weight?

I'm trying to figure out how to lose some of the pregnancy weight that I gained with my first child, which he's only 8mo. I still have about 30lbs until I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight (which was already overweight to begin with). Is anyone else struggling with this? Or just throwing all of their cares to the wind with it?

Re: Anyone struggling with past pregnancy weight?

  • I have an almost 8 month old too! This pregnancy came as a surprise, I thought I would have a little more time to get in shape. That being said, I had about 10 lbs to lose still. I had just started jogging again and will try to keep that up along with walks and when I think about it some light toning. Not to lose weight, but just to help me keep healthy during this pregnancy. I gained 39 lbs last time, so hoping it won't be quite that much this time, but will do what my body needs me to do for this new one :)

  • That's pretty much where I'm standing with this pregnancy, ours was a surprise too. I gained around 45 (most in the last 3 weeks, and during labor. That pitocin sucked and so did the saline). I'm trying to convince DH to get up with me in the mornings and we take LO for a walk so I can get in a better habit of it before number 2 arrives.

  • I am overweight.  With that being said, I have been doing crossfit for the past year.  I don't plan on stopping my workouts anytime soon, just doing a modified workout.  But, your goal should never be to lose weight while pregnant.  Just eat healthy and exercise and that should help keep the weight off and make it easier to get it off afterwards.

  • I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight after having DD 8 months ago, but I am definitely softer around the edges still. :( I'm 5'7" and 145. But soooo much excess skin and padding. I'm doing what pp said and eating healthier while moving more. Hopefully the weight will come off quickly again after this baby!

  • Still fluffy from last pregnancy too! My DS is 17 months old though so I have no excuse as to why I'm still fluffy. I don't like exercising that much I guess :) . This will be my last baby so I plan on getting in shape after I have this baby!

  • I still have baby weight from my last pregnancy and she is now 3:(. My doctor said to continue exercising and basically it would be ok to essentially loose weight and gain baby so as to not really gain any weight if that makes sense.
  • I'm overweight to begin with, but I had just gotten down to my pre-pregnancy weight literally two days before I found out I was pregnant again. I'm trying really hard not to gain too much weight this time, but it's hard when I'm starving all the time and just want carbs.

This is what I'm meaning. I want my baby to be healthy, but I want to be healthy too... and being as overweight as I already am isn't making this pregnancy fun. I just want to try my best to gain baby and lose some inches I guess. I've been bad about an exercise regime. I guess my next trip to the doctor will be including what I should be doing.
