Beta and HCG are the same thing. The whole name my doctor uses is "HCG, Beta Subunit". You should call your OB&GYN now if you haven't already to inform them you are pregnant. They will determine when you need to have your HCG checked, it is determined from a blood test.
For my first pregnancy they did not have me do any blood tests until a couple days before my first appt and ultrasound at 10 weeks. For my second pregnancy, I started spotting at 4w so they had me test HCG to track if my levels dropped or raised. They should double every 48 hours.
I have had multiple miscarriages in the past. So yes. I think it should be done. Getting bloodwork today.
I am only in my 5th week.
I think this is a good move, I plan to do the same with my next pregnancy as I too have had multiple losses. My dr said it was up to me if I wanted to do weekly HCG tests bc of my losses. I think it will help me to see the numbers progressing and keep me from worrying. Good luck!!!
My first HCG on the 27th was 58, 2nd HCG on Monday was 84. Since numbers dud not double I have to go back tomorrow for another blood test. I'm super nervous since this is my 2nd IUI.
I recommend googling about progesterone suppositories and then asking your doc for it. More than likely, docs dont want to prescribe it, but theyll give it to you if you ask. I swear by it!
