Definitely 100% Tristan! :-) I'm not sure of the middle name you paired it up with but I *LOVE* the name Tristan.. in fact, Tristan Joseph is our top #1 boys name!!!!!
I like Tristan much better. It's not a bad name, but I can only think of the Chalie Brown character when I hear Linus. ?Pick the one you like best, though.
I love the name Linus. A friend of mine named her son Linus and once you are used to the name on a real person, it's a great one.
Tristan makes me think "sad" because it's very similar to the French and Spanish words for sadness. Though the actual etymology is said to be quite different, the association is too strong for me and I don't think it's a very nice name at all.
Re: Linus or Tristan
Ditto this....how do you pronounce that mn?
Linus is too Charlie Brown, but I like Gabriel.
I don't like Tristan. It sounds like you're saying "Christian" with a speech impediment (even though I know it's a legit name - just sayin').
I LOVE Linus, but he'd really have to work to overcome the little kid on Charlie Brown.
WTH is an Alistain? Oil stain? Alistair misspelled? I don't get it.
I think Linus is an awful name so I would go with Tristan but I actually think of that as a girly boys' name.
I agree.
Between Linus and Tristan, I would definitely pick Tristan. Linus is terrible.
But, I do like Gabriel more than both of those.
My childhood poodle was named Tristan so that's what I think about that.
Linus...seriously? Too bad you're not having twins so you could name the other Snoopy.
Gabriel is the only one that I like. Alistain is odd - is it a family name?
Tristan sounds too romance novel-y, and Linus is, well, a Peanut.
I am a runner, knitter, scientist, DE-IVF veteran, and stage III colon cancer survivor.
As long as it isn't Linus.
ditto.
my very German friends just had a Linus. I personally like it - wouldn't use it for MY kid, but if it is your heritage, go for it.
They also considered Oskar - glad they went with Linus!

My thoughts exactly!

I am not a fan of either, sorry.
Linus sounds too much like "sinus" and Tristan sounds effeminite. Which is fine, but limiting.
