Convertible car seat

we are in the process of changing to a bigger car seat. We got two from my sister that are convertible car seats. I'm having trouble fitting them in my car rear facing. I drive a pilot so it's not like a small car. Is anyone else having difficulties with a larger car seat?

    We just got a pilot and because my husband is 6' 4", the only place we could easily fit our rear-facing convertible seat (graco my ride or my size--I can't remember) was in the middle of the second row.

    My chicco nextfit fits perfectly in my tiny two door. The other car is an alero four door and our larger britax boulevard fits comfortably.
