  • I work at a greenhouse so yes I may be on my feet all day and out in the sun but it will also be nice to wear shorts and a tang top to work everyday!
  • I am so glad I convinced my grandma to keep the pool open for 2 more summer! I am spending all summer over there :)

Maybe I'm the odd one out, but I'm looking forward to a summer pregnancy for three reasons. First, SWIMMING! Second, wearing summery maternity clothes and flip flops. Lastly, having a baby born when it's NOT flu season for once! My other babies are January and March babies and there were close family members that missed both births because they were sick and it sucked!

Flu season can begin in September I'm afraid to say. Sept is when I got H1n1 a few years ago.

I realize that, but I can't say that I've ever heard of anyone having the flu that early in the year around here. Not saying it won't happen, but it's far less likely than January or March.
  • I'm excited because I work at a school and it means I'll be done with work! I'll finally have some time to myself before baby gets here :)

  • I'm in the dreading summer camp! We were NTNP, and summer was the one time I didn't really want to be third trimester, if I could help it. Like pp, it was one of my first sentiments about the whole thing. My house has full western exposure and lots of windows - great for sunsets over the valley, bad for a no-AC house. A friend recommended I get a kiddie pool and buy my belly its own watering can. And I wouldn't put it past me to wind up sleeping in the bath tub. I'm hoping there will be some good "staying cool" threads as the time approaches, with lots of tips and tricks.
  • My first thought was "i will be abusing the ac this year". Normally I try to open windows and use fans as long as I can stand it. But not this summer!!
  • My first thought was UGHH, but now I'm looking forward to it. Im not big on heat, but swimming will be comfy. Fall is my favourite time of year, and I can see me out picking apples with the baby in a wrap, walking through the crunching leaves. Better than my Christmas baby where I was worried about being snowed in and visited by sick people. Plus with my job it means 2 summers off (we tend to be put off work 6w early and get a year mat leave).

  • Dreading it!!! Yesterday I was so miserable that we've decided to go and purchase a portable AC from Home Depot. Lol! But I won't lie, I am looking forward to maxi dresses and flip flops especially being able to wear them to work. And I just bought a bikini and cute strapless bathing suit from VS for my cruise, so already building my summer wardrobe. Now just need my baby bump so I can look officially preggers instead of just fat :)
  • Honestly I would much rather be pregnant in the summer. It's so much easier to throw on a cute little sundress, some flip flops and throw your hair up and be on your way. In the winter you have to bundle up your bump and I find it to be so much more uncomfortable. And for days when it's just too hot and muggy I hibernate in the AC lol!
  • Ga summers with 100% humidity! Thx goodness for the pool and a/c

  • I has ds 1 is September too and it wasn't nearly as bad as everyone said it would be.  Also, our a/c was busted that year too and we are actually getting it fixed this year, so awesome.  On the bright side when your feet are swelled 5x their normal size you can wear flip flops.  I had ds 2 the first day of march and the snow was flying the months leading up to his birth and it was a PAIN to squeeze into shoes and layer up.

  • @GeorgiaDottie Florida is no different. That's the part I dread. Otherwise I look forward to living in dresses and sandals.
  • I'm excited I've bought a ton of dresses already! Georgia can be hot but I love the heat and we may be putting an offer on a house with a pool next week! ! ! ! ! I'm dying I'm so excited! I can't wait to be belly up in the pool!
  • I'm in the summer camp; we are getting am early spring in MN and I absolutely love it! I'm so ready for shorts and flip flops and days at the lake. My family has a lake cabin about 1/2 hr away from DH and I, so I'm sure I will be waddling down the dock to get into the water a few times a week
  • I love Summer but it gets really hot and humid here so I am dreading that a bit because I'm afraid of over heating. Plus I'm super paranoid about swelling, I had minimal with my son and I'm afraid the heat is going to make it worse. Water water water! I got pregnant with my son in June so I timed that pretty well.
  • I'm just happy I don't need to buy a new winter coat.
  • I live in south Florida so it's summer year round ! Just another day it will be lol
  • I have maxi dresses that may finally fit with the new boobs and bump
  • This might sound stupid, but I'm a FTM and someone told me I can't swim when I'm 7-8 months pregnant. They aren't right, right? I'm just making sure.
  • I honestly can't wait and I live in Arizona. We already hit 90 yesterday and have had a pool day, although the pool is still too cold for me to actually get in it. I'll be living in dresses, flip flops, and my swimsuit! I joke with my husband saying I'm gonna quit work in July just so I can lay in the pool all day.
  • @GeorgiaDottie I live in NC and summer not that great either. I'm looking forward to water parks and ice cream
  • I'm a huge fan a flip flops and I am itching to wear them already, lol. While I am sure at some point I will be hot and uncomfortable I think it will be much easier to be huge in the summer, and when it gets to be too much, I will camp out in front of the a/c!
  • dreading it!! I had a pregnant roommate one summer and I vividly remember how miserable she was. we don't have pool access, may not have a/c (fingers crossed on that!), and hubby turns into a raging monster for two weeks at the hottest point of every year if there's no a/c. so I dread summers anyway, let alone being pregnant :-/

    I've never heard that.
  • im in washington so I should be thanking my stars it wont be as miserable as I have in my head.. we dont have a pool but we live on the same street as the country club so i guess we will just have to join so I can use the pool everyday ha! plus i only work like 25 hrs so ill work half the day and swim the other half. I only have a few dresses but I better get shopping for some more & sandals!!! deff a maternity swim suit & floatys!
