Choosing the right option

My husband and I have recently found out that our infertility is due to low and slow sperm. He has undergone treatment to increase the count and speed them up, but unfortunately nothing has worked. We are now trying to figure out what our best option will be to conceive. We have been researching IUI and IVF. I was hoping to get some input on both the procedures. Also, would love to hear from anyone who has been in our situation! Thanks in advance!

Hi There!  I'm Veronica.  I'm new to this online community (this is the first post that I'm replying to).  My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for about a year and half, with no success.  I've been through a few tests and so far everything is coming back normal for me, but we just found out last week that my husband has very low sperm motility (only 4%!!).  It's been really hard to wrap my head around what our options are.  My doctor let us know that we can try a few rounds of IUI, but with my husbands low sperm motility, it's not likely to be effective.  :/   The other option for us is IVF, but I'm not looking forward to putting my body through all that stress, both physical and emotional (not to mention the financial cost).  We're trying to stay positive and take one step at a time.  Right now we're waiting for a call back to schedule an appointment to talk about our options in more detail.  In the meantime, we're trying out some supplements to increase male fertility, Fertility Aid for Men.  I have no idea if that will help at all, but there were tons of positive online reviews.  We'll see how things turn out.....

Thank You So much for the response! It seems like we are in the same boat! I am new to the community as well! My husband was on Testosterone medication for 6 months in hopes that it will increase his count, he goes for his last analysis tomorrow. The mid-treatment results were not promising, however, and I am making an appointment with my doctor for next week. We are also going to find out our options, which we are rooting for IUI. I'll keep you posted!

I remember seeing a post in TTC >35 about supplements that husbands are taking to increase count and motility. Maybe search the posts over there? Best of luck and I hope the next SA has good news for you.

Looks like the Clomid is working! We will be meeting with our specialist to see what next step is for us. We have male and female factors so have to figure out the best option to get a fast and healthy pregnancy. Thanks for the input!
